I had a chance at one at a real 30% off MSRP in Nov 2023 but their spotty history and my age and REAL needs said otherwise. They better have addressed the issues associated with the old one. But since you can get them on Wranglers still, it appears they did address the problems.

"Another piece of the puzzle likely involves the clutch-related recalls that impacted earlier Wrangler and Gladiator models equipped with manual gearboxes. Some of those issues raised safety concerns, which may have pushed Jeep to step back and reevaluate. However, updated hardware and engineering improvements appear to have addressed those problems, potentially clearing the way for a comeback."

I would like to know more details about these "updated hardware and engineering improvements".

I bought my JTR in July 2019 and I've been through ALL the recalls. I managed to hold off on the final complete clutch replacement until it had 65k miles. It didn't need it, but it was nice to get a brand new two or three thousand dollar major maintenance item done for free. I've never had the engine power down or any messages saying the clutch was too hot. I'm sure most of us have had similar experiences. I had come to the realization that I was going to have search for a used 2024 with a 6-speed when I needed a replacement. This is great news!
