I finally have my new ride! I'm coming out of a 04' Jeep LJ w/250k miles I swear the throttle response is twice as fast as the Brand new 23' Mojave, and the new Jeeps gas pedal is giving my calf muscle a cramp I swear the trigger pull is 50lbs... what gives? I feel less in control is there anyway to make this right?

Not looking for more power... big gain... what have you..
I need whatever is causing the delay in peda/trottle to be reduced.. and or Lighten/loosen the damn gas pedal. Super strange being in a new vehicle like this..

Does the manual trans have whatever this issue is? That would be a real nightmare!

Was it designed like this on purpose, safety or mpg's? I kinda find it dangerous.. reducing reaction times.

The issue is on modern cars, pedal input does not equal throttle blade output. They are tuned to prevent extremely high loads along with slower throttle blade movements equal lower emissions.

have not heard anyone say anything about the pedal weight. Might be a ergonomics issue/angle with your seating position.

some form of a pedal commander or similar will help, but it will never drive like a throttle cable vehicle without a real full PCM tune

Pedal commander should help the tip in response. No clue on pedal weight. Mines fine.
Yeah, I was going to say Banks Pedal Monster thinking here comes the shit show. The people who don't like throttle controllers tend to be passionate about not liking throttle controllers.

It's not a mechanical link. It's electronic, which is why the Banks would change response. It essentially multiples input and lies to the factory calibration.
It will not change resistance.
My 21 Mojave feels fine.
You may want to have the dealer check it. Maybe a bolt got over torqued, which would be a world record setting first ever on a Gladiator ?.

Hmm, I just test drove a Mojave yesterday and the pedal resistance felt fine to me. This is in comparison to my 2016 JK. I will also say that in my JK I did remove one of the springs in the gas pedal assembly to lessen the resistance because it was so “stiff”. The response of the pedal felt fine to me as well compared again to my JK which has a Sprintbooster set to green 6 . I think you should find someone local and see if you can test drive theirs or just go back to a dealership and drive one there.

Here‘s a thread from a JK forum on modifying the gas pedal assembly to remove one of the springs. I have no idea if the JT pedal assembly is the same as the JK unit. https://www.wranglerforum.com/threads/gas-pedal-assembly-modification.427410/#post-6624122

I’ve got a Mojave with the Banks Pedal Monster and the throttle response is a ton better - with a lot of adjustability. No issues with codes being generated either.

I don’t get why folks have so much hatred against throttle controllers but it is a night and day difference. Perhaps most folks have used Pedal Commanders and Banks has just improved on the concept. This is the first one I’ve owned and I likely will add one of these to any new vehicle I purchase in the future.

While they don’t add power, they do change the transmission shift points to sure make it jump off the line faster, and I can go higher up on the RPMs in some of the gears.

I’m curious how much a gear change compares to adding a throttle controller, given the throttle controller is way cheaper.

That being said my gas mileage has dropped a couple MPG after adding the Banks unit. I could probably adjust to a less aggressive mode to help that out a bit.

I have a 2023 Mojave with the manual transmission. It felt a bit sluggish for the first 500 miles or so. Since then, it seems to move the butt dyno better than before. The gas pedal doesn't feel significantly different than things I've driven in the past with regards to how much resistance it has when pressing it. Obviously, this is all anecdotal and without any objective data.

The only issue I have with my Mohave MT is taking off from stand still - in all my previous manual transmission non Jeep trucks and cars, I could 100% release the clutch pedal in and around 1000 rpm without stalling in first gear. But on this, due to fear of stalling, 50% of the time I hit about 2k rpms specially if I have to take off from a slight incline. Still not able to get that muscle memory to release the clutch fully before it hits 1.5k rpm.

Have you mastered it yet? If so, any suggestions? I am at about 800 miles on odometer on this truck and its my main daily driver.

Apart from this granny 1st gear, the MT on this truck is awesome.

To be honest...I haven't really paid attention to what RPM I'm using to get off the line in 1st. So I have no tips...but I'm sure you'll nail that muscle memory soon enough. The clutch's engagement point is definitely much higher than the MX-5 or M3 I've owned before. But, it's similar to my uncle's old Taco from the early 90s. I guess in those sports cars I could get away with dropping into 1st at lower RPMs...but I'm guessing it's because they were much lighter.

I suspect your dealing with the odd dual mass flywheel effects that allows the engine to stall off idle.
