It pretty much sucks anyway. Not a great bumper option at all.

Just got my bumper and skid plate...can't wait to make a video of my install :)
The install is crazy easy. No brainer even with no instructions. Take off original, bolt on new.
I couldn't believe the number of posts out in the Jeep world people having trouble figuring out the front bumper swap. When I was done I asked myself - what's the big deal? Yeah, an air ratchet speeds things up, and a couple of extensions and a flex help a lot, but other than some tools making it easier or faster, it honestly was simple as heck. Even adding the skid plate was no trouble. I did it myself, no helper to hold things.

The only part I don't like so much is the mud, salt, sand and dirt that gets tossed through the middle of the "wings"...........

Yup...that's my weekend project. Although I'm doing ONE thing diff. Removing the red hooks and throwing my black stock ones back on. My Glady is sting gray/black...I MUST stay with that theme :)

For the price there’s way better options is all.

Especially considering the front is plastic.
Only the sacrificial inserts around the fog lights are plastic. Ding one up, replace it for 15 bucks.
It's intended to be sacrificial, simple replacement, like bumper guards on other vehicles, save the bumper and finish on the bumper.
Otherwise it's steel. If you want something crazy heavy and like a Panzer tank, fine, maybe some folks run into a lot of stuff on the trail and don't want to replace pop-in plastic inserts. Otherwise, it's steel.
And some folks just plain prefer the look of the stock bumpers - Jeep did a great job on the appearance and design.
Depends on your PERSONAL preference, and that's pretty much it.

He's talking about the steel bumper. Nobody's paying that for plastic. Those are practically free on Marketplace.

Odd when I posted a pic of my steel bumper that which one is even a question. The original stock base front bumper you can get for free.

I wrapped up my original Overland bumper and stowed it away knowing no one would pay anything for it, and I won't ship it. Maybe in a couple of years someone will be hit in a parking lot and need a front bumper? Otherwise, it sits fine on the shelf where it is. Not worth trying to sell when so many are taking them off to swap anyway.

Those cones are plastic.

A plastic esthetic cone does not make the bumper a plastic bumper….

if that logic applies then I guess our trucks are fiberglass POS’s and extremely overpriced.

I didn’t say it was a plastic bumper. I said it had plastic on the front.

The entire point of steel is generally because you’re going to be bumping into things. Having plastic cone on the front seems counterproductive to that logic is all.
