33" vs 37" tire performaces

Pre COVID shut in I was getting 17 MPG of mostly highway. But I cruise at 75 mph. Heavy foot. That was in the Falken 33 MTs.

My rig is. Manual so I never hit 8th. LOL. But I definitely won't be 6th much.

Speaking of rotties, I'm on my second. First I've was the greatest. Passed away at 12. Current one is now 12 and honestly will be have to be pit down in a month or so. She's just getting old. Back end is not working like it used. Sucks. Lot of life in those eyes, but body doesn't want work. Can't think of any better family dog.

...unfortunately they don't live long …very prone to get cancer and of course as all big dogs very common issues with hips

I was fixing to say... Most Rotties I've known only lived about 10 years... 12 years is a LONG time for a rottweiler.

Also, back on subject... If you get one, get a Rubicon with the 4.10 gears and lockers and stuff. It's worth the extra money. Also be sure to order it with the Freedom Top, 8.4" Navi and 9-speaker Alpine system, and AUX switches.

Install a Tazer JL Mini, and iDrive unit to compensate for the power loss with the 37" tires. The Tazer will allow you to recalibrate your ECM for the 37's, so your speedometer and shift-points are all correct, and the iDrive set on U-7 mode will make driving SO much more enjoyable! My fuel mileage is averaging 14.6 MGP around hilly backroads at 45-55 MPH, and I'm sure straight down the highway will be even better.

Planning on starting with mods
I already bought the 2.5" Rough County leveling kit and the Tazer Lite ( not the Mini) ...just wanted to get some advise before I go with bigger shoes .....initially I was planning to go 35s....but after reading a lot about folks very happy with 37s even on stock vehicle I'm a little confused now
I'm sure it'll be more logical for me go 35..... but the look on those damn 37s...!!! ...I'm just afraid to invest money on the 35s and regret after a few days I didn't go 37.....this makes me feel an idiot

Go with 35s when you are on the fence about 37s and 99% of the time you will regret it. Someone in the classifieds then gets a deal on 35s when you upgrade.

I cruise at 85-90 and have to be careful as I think I’m doing 60-65, but it creeps up quickly. Like others, I love my JTR. Driving it, looking at it, cleaning it, talking about it, upgrading it, and showing it off to my envious neighbors, family and coworkers. One of the best all around great vehicles I have ever owned, but that’s just my opinion.

I'm on 35's with mine with a 2.5" SST lift kit and 1.75" wheel spacers, unused the JScan to reset for the tires, best bang for your buck in my opinion. I'll probably end up with 37's after driving mine on 35's since I'm still averaging over 18mpgs on the 35's, figure if I drop to 17mpgs on 37's that's still better than my JKU on 35's. Mine on 35's rides as good as it did stock, maybe a little better. I'm starting to crave the 37 look just to add a little more height and meat to the look. I'm sure your 33's would get you where you need to go off road and in most situations unless your doing some extreme rock crawling and flexing it out. Mines a Max Tow sport

I went back & forth as well, everyone told me the same thing... If you’re debating, just go ahead and get 37’s... Glad I did.
