Upgraded to KO2 275/65/R20 (34 in) on stock wheels. When turning tight backing up, some rubbing occurs. No lift or leveling kit. Do we need to move the wheels out or lift? Thoughts?

Sounds like you either need to move the wheels out or adjust your steering stops. And it probably happening in forward, too, even if you don’t notice as easily.

Adjusting steering stops is probably not recommended if you have to add a lot of washers since it does impact turning radius. That being said, I had to add 2 to each side and mostly haven't noticed in day to day driving. Plus if you haven't raised your Jeep, it would probably look awkward to add wheel spacers or do anything that pushes the wheels out more. And since it only takes like 5-10 minutes to put in the washers and it's 100% reversible, there's certainly no harm in trying.

You don't need to buy anything special, a washer or two on the steering stops each side makes a huge change.

Interesting, I too was interested in getting 34s but have read (and told by my wheel shop) that 33s are max for non-Rubis/Mojos. I need tires bad and have been waiting. Obviously they're correct in that yours rub, but if the steering stops help, that is apparently an option. Although I'd hate to lose any turning radius........ ?

You don't need to jump into new tires to test it out. You could just pop in some washers and see what you think about. I'm moving to larger tires soon and plan to widen my track in order to pull my washers out, but I can't say I've noticed all that much to have them in there.

35's on Mojave wheels installed on my Overland, I get a little rub full lock. Only thing it hurts is the paint on the sway and control arm. When I feel or hear the rub, I just back off the steering a little, and that resolves it.
