OP is from florida ... Guy could swap a blown 426 with dual carbs and no cats and still tag it in FL and daily it they have Zero inspection
I had an old Ford with a 428 in it .. and another with a 390 heavily built up both got about 8mpg when you was easy on the peddle and 6mpg when you was heavy into it. That 426 would be fun as heck but man I couldn't afford to drive it
That 390 I had the truck had 4.10's in a 80 mile trip I would be on the last gallon or 2 of gas on a 80miles highway trip . You literally could watch the gauge dropped when you got into the 4 barrel😂😂😂 heck with a 392 bring on the 426 ..

Smog equipment is a federal thing. That is nation wide. Just because your area doesn't enforce the federal law does not make it legal. IE( sanctuary city) .. I found a AMW840 new in Riverside Calif and the salesman said it would get a Calif license because it had all the smog equipment on it and it was all new. LOL,, Can't get a new 840 in Calif and get Calif reg.

I’m looking for any advice or maybe tips to what I’m trying to do. So my plan is to buy a wrecked 392 Wrangler from an auction, and swap the drivetrain into my Gladiator. If everything works like I think I should be able to take everything out of the Wrangler engine bay including Battery, engine, reservoirs, radiator, etc and put it into the gladiator. I know I’ll have to get a new drive shaft unless I the stock gladiator one works, but I kinda want a beefier driveshaft than the stock one. But since the engine bays are the same lay out of each other just different orientation of everything it should work right? I would definitely do the AMW swap but I don’t have anywhere near that kinda money laying around. Anything helps thanks.
Stingray: You still looking to do this? I know this is a 2 year old post! I just completed my 2023 Gladiator, 392 OEM swap. Many of the parts purchased from wrecked 392 Wranglers! It seems that owners crash these things at a prodigious rate! LOL
