The double duals in black is subtle. Nice. Here's a shot of the tail pipes. I left the Coastie emblem for all the Coasties out there! You know who you are!! - Tim
BourbonRunner: Funny! LOL Coast Guard sonar only makes two sounds (Too deep too deep), (Knee deep knee deep). ; )The double duals in black is subtle. Nice.
Also: A Coastie in Colorado?
Did you do the "getting out and walking cross country with an oar over my shoulder and stopping when someone asks what that thing is" move? :P
AustinLonghorn: Yeah I understand the need for security and even protecting intellectual property. But it really seems like they are trying to kill right to repair. I am not sure how AMW does it. I just know the folks I talked to directly all had eastern European accents. Pretty sure they are decompiling code and working on machine language?? This gets them below any security certificates or encryption. Illegal in the US? Sure is. Over seas? Not so much. TimPretty awesome project (and a huge undertaking)!
On the CAN side, I've always been fascinated by how these JL/JT engine swaps were even possible (other than black electrical tape over the DTC warning on the dash? What DTCs are being reported?
When I swapped the PCM on my ancient '00 WJ, it became clear that the replacement PCM had to *exactly* match the year model and engine (the PCM/firmware changed slightly every year, even for the same 4.0L engine).
Outside of the GPEC5 versus GPEC2A discussion, I wonder how the various modules interact when ONE module is suddenly running the "wrong" firmware from what Chrysler engineering shipped? (ie: "'25 JT BCM v1.2.3" expects "'25 JT Pentastar PCM/ECU v4.5.6" on the bus)
How does AMW get around this, other than custom/hand-edited firmware?

We were talking about 5.7L Gladiator mpg in another thread. What are you getting?Just been reading the adventure. Awesome that you figured out how to do the hemi. Still glad I had AMW do my 5.7, I just do not have the will to deal with those issues of getting it all to work nice together. I may have to try that resonator that ltdodge used. After 4 years it would be nice to get rid of the drone around 60 to 65 mph.
do it! you wont regret it. if you dont like, you can always take it offJust been reading the adventure. Awesome that you figured out how to do the hemi. im averaging 12.5 on my 6.4We were talking about 5.7L Gladiator mpg in another thread. What are you getting?
12 - 13 mpg average. that is city and highway. We were talking about 5.7L Gladiator mpg in another thread. What are you getting?
Awesome job Tim, i am inspired!I have the 392 in and running. Still need to clear some DTC's. But for the most part it is fully functional. This is pretty much an "OEM" swap. All the parts are orderable from Jeep. For the programming you need to go to someone other than Jeep to get done. In my opinion, the Gladiator was made to do this. For example the windshield washer bottle on the 392 Wrangler's, is deep down inside the drivers side wheel well. Between the firewall and drivers side inner fender. The studs, holes and cage nuts to put it there are already installed. Unless the diesel Gladiators used the same washer bottle setup? Only the 392 Wrangler's would use that position. I kept the MP1622, Select Trac transfer case. So unlike the 392 Wrangler's, I CAN do 2H!! I suspect epic burns will ensue LOL! I kept the Mojave Orange accent color on the "valve covers" and 392 hood emblems. These too were orderable from a Jeep licensed supplier! I am kind of torn on installing the Hydro Guide. It will bolt up but isn't a Mojave "thing"!?

ItDodge: I kept my electric power steering pump. I sourced an original used wrangler 392, with the alternator up high. My guess is AMW used the 392 crate engine (new) with the car timing cover that puts the alternator “down low” where the electric PS pump sits. So they went with the accessory mounted PS pump. They work the same. I think that might explain how AMW gets around some of the ECU, VIN interop issues. I think the crate 392 ECU is coded with an all 1’s or 0’s (I can’t remember which) default VIN. Any how the “default VIN” the other modules interpret it as their VIN. Only Stellantis can code that. It’s not something you can write with Witech or any other tool. I am way over my skies here, but I think they burn it into the EEPROM. Timis the power steering pump still electronic or power driven? my AMW conversion changed it out, just curious on the setup.
