3rd shock over rear axle

Any see a part number on the shock itself? Maybe stamped in?
I see the Mopar P/N, I’d like to find the Bilstein number (could not find it on their website).
For those wondering, yes I’m looking for an alternative if I can’t find it listed for another vehicle. Over $200 is nuts IMHO.

One of the other threads on this (years ago) had photos of the shock showing the Mopar and Bilstein part numbers. I searched at the time and found nothing. I bought the necessary pieces from @AllMoparParts.com

FWIW, I have handled this shock and it is a pretty high resistance gas charged shock. More than any other normal wheeled corner suspension shock I have handled. It is tailored made for this application. May find something that will physically fit, but I would be surprised if you find a direct alternate in terms of performance.

I’m thinking RV shocks may not be far off. Mopar I’m sure does not want to say.
What are people who lift do if they have one??

It is a special shock, in rate, dampening, and it is designed to be horizontal not vertical. I would not try to get some cut-rate generic shock and expect the same results.

Is there a top and bottom side?
I didn’t mention cut-rate, I’m thinking King 3” external bypass coil over. mine will be better!

joking aside, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was pulled from the parts bin and thrown into that roll, I mean gosh Jeep cut it from the Gladiator in what 2021? What happens when someone needs one in 3 or 4 years.

At the end of the day it’s a shock absorber with heavy dampening.
