Mad respect to anybody who starts their own business but I agree with you. Great concept needs more refinement and start with the instructions.

Haha is it really complimentary if you've paid for it?

Drill holes in top - NOPE

Looks a little “Bubba-ish” - NOPE

Difficult to open and close - NOPE

$400 for hinges and cotter pins - NOPE

Looks like shit when tops opened - NOPE

I have the Sun Rider. Best money I ever spent.

EASY to install/remove - YUP

NO holes or permanent damage - YUP

Looks OK open and closed - YUP

Easy to open/close, one handed from seat - YUP

Expensive - YUP, but we’ll worth it.

Exactly what I was thinking. I can think of a ton of other stuff to spend $400 on for my jeep.

LOL, I think this was more in response to the stupidly high price of the Sun Rider flip top thing.

I also can't get over the soft top AND hard top combo when it's on, the off color looks terrible to me so I won't do it. I have a bed, a tonneau cover, and the bag for my freedom panels :) Takes all of about 60-90 seconds. I'll take that for "free".

I’d love to have a sunrider, but at that point I’m thinking buy a soft top and be happier.

Personally I will never take the top off my Gladiator. It's why I got it color matched hard top.

Doorless is for the Rock Crawler, but I prefer keeping a bikini top on to keep the sun off as that adds up if you are out for 8-10 hrs

But I applaud this guys ingenuity.

What a waste. Just get the soft top if you want to have a convertible. Why make things more difficult than they need to be.

This is pretty cool
$400, isn't too bad a price, especially compared to a Sunrider.
The Sunrider may cost more but it has two major advantages. First of all it opens BOTH sides and not just one. With the Sunrider you don,t drill any holes or make any permanent modifications. Your original freedom tops are still unscathed in case you want to go back to stock. I love my Sunrider and it's quicker to operate than this new gizmo. I"ve had a Sunrider since they first came out and my freedom panels are still in their storage bag. One other issue may be if you have a rack on your roof this new gizmo may not work.

Meh
I am glad you like yours.
I am just going to re-add my other post which you didn't quote.

And last, I will never understand a roof rack on a truck. Bed Rack yes, Roof rack, no

Well that solved a problem that didn’t exist, and created a new ones like water leaks or cracking the hardtop. I will save the 400 and just stick to putting them in the bag
