Thought Id post a 45K status on my 22 (late 21 mfg) manual Mojave.
This truck is stock with AT3 coopers except for the special light alloy racing
hood, which knocked off about 30 lbs from front axle.
Fuel average at 8000feet commuting is 21.7 mpg.
The clutch is stellar. Easy to control and light pedal. Its only improved with
time and this includes a LOT of heavy trailer pulling (as in 2800lbs or so).
New the clutch was pretty bad. Mushy, vague, and would smell when slipping.
Took about 11k to fully break in.
Only two issues have occurred so far:
1) Steering damper failed in -19 degree weather
2) Clutch master cylinder bolt was loose at manufacture time.
So far no steering, clutch or cam issues.
Quaker state ultimate synthetic since new. Changed at 70% on gauge.
Only three grips:
1) You cannot push start button first then follow with clutch to start. This is a inconvenience
especially if you stall on a trail. JeepCares could this be a FW option???
2) A dual mass flywheel has NO business on an offroad oriented vehicle.
3) The power band is optimized for the 8spd auto. Hard to keep it at 5000 with
a six speed manual! JeepCares, is there an optional FW fix to better adapt power band
to manual?
Wish list:
Eight speed sequential tranny option (yeah right)
Modified power band for 6sp manual
Turbo option(s) for V6
Underseat cargo/pet panel.
Removable rear seats.
