I brought my 2021 Eco Diesel in for the recall (re-program). While in was in the shop I asked them to check out the noises I hear when steering at low speed. A few hours later I get a call from the service manager. Apparently the Diff. Fluid looked like motor oil and was full of shavings. They ordered a complete rear end, axle and everything? to make matters worse parts won't be available until late JUNE?

They put the jeep back together, added some type of differential additive and told me to drive it until parts come in. I asked if I am just going to burn it up even more, the answer was maybe.......

If it's getting replaced it won't matter if you do more damage. It's a differential, it won't affect anything upstream unless you try to get your car to move in 4x4 after the diff has seized (unlikely to seize by June I'd imagine).

Tbh I'm surprised they're willing to replace so much.

Drive it until you don't feel safe doing so anymore, then ask for a loaner til parts arrive.

Describe the noise you were hearing. On my JL I get a pop turning right on low speeds and can't find out where's it's coming from.
Thanks!

My noise was more of a tire squeak, but around tight turns at low speeds it felt as if the axle was locked up? Maybe it was. I am afraid to drive the Glad very much and it's too cold and salty to take out the Mustang, so I'm driving my girlfriends Nissan Leaf (at least I'm not paying for fuel).
