Please do a oil analysis report after running this. Would love to see what comes back. Do disclose it when you send the sample in if you do.

I definitely will as I want to watch for anything out of the normal more so now than I did previously. When it arrives I will pour it in. I still have about 2000 miles before next oil change. I will let them know it was added and at the specific mileage.

I dumped the 5w20 in this weekend. Same brand I usually use, Valvoline EP. No discernable difference in cold start noise. The engine is otherwise pretty quiet. I think these engines are just a little noisy when cold.

They are. It does not help that there is no anti-drainback system for the oil filter and oil cooler housing with the oil eventually draining back into the crank case sump after shutdown. Then has to refill and pressurize again on next startup.

funny you mention that. If I have to run to a job site for a quick in and out (under 15 min) or gas station etc.. I just let it idle. Even today w 90 temp outside oil temp was sitting around 212 when I jumped back in. The lock while it runs feature changes my life.

Swap the 5w-40 to 5w-30. I have to still add the extra 1/2 quart like I did before (totaling 5.5 quarts).

immediately I can see the oil temperature change. With the 40 my oil temp even under some boosting never really went past 218-220. Today I was getting 226-232.

now being from nascar country the saying hot oil / cold air came to mind. I feel like the hotter temperatures are probably flowing better and may be better for start up.

also debating throwing in another bottle of cera tec
