I just want to see safety and reliability from Jeep from now on- Hoping my Gladiator will be a great one after repair- (still in the shop)- My 1st payment is not even due yet- so my Jeep is that new…

Jeep needs to address the Faulty Transmission production now- Unacceptable and potential for danger or loss of life- This needs to be addressed ASAP at the Factory.
They are addressing it, called a warranty. While reading a few internet posts can make one think a problems is widespread, it really is not most times in the aggregate.

There was no off road driving or abuse. After reading all of these posts, Jeep Gladiator Transmissions are faulty from the Factory - I hope the replacement will be lasting - Per the Service Advisor: the New Electric Hybrids also have transmission issues- repair took 6 months waiting on parts - Jeep needs to address the Faulty Transmission production now- Unacceptable and potential for danger or loss of life- This needs to be addressed ASAP at the Factory.
Remember, you are looking at vehicle health issues in a vehicle hospital. No, transmission failures are RARE, especially on the Gladiator and other Jeep models.
They aren't faulty from the factory. You got a problem one, and a few others have.
The forums and internet is a MAGNET for people with problems. It doesn't mean they are problematic or that a lot of people have problems. Consider the forums a funnel where the very few who have problems all end up, making it LOOK like there's a lot of problems.
There's just plain no major problems with Gladiator transmissions in general. I'd bet the number is in the small fractions of a fraction of a percent.
You can't go reading the internet and assume that because you see 5 people with the same problems, they all have the problem.

I've had 2 Gladiators with ZERO transmission issues. And generally speaking, having been here since late 2019, I really see extremely few with issues. Remember, most JT owners won't be on forums, and even those who are - of the 14,000 or so members, how many have really had a problem, and consider the forum members make up only a tiny sample of all JT owners.

The 4xe transmission is NOT made by FCA.
The Gladiator transmission IS made by FCA in the USA.
The 4xe transmission is made in Germany by ZF.
Yes, some have issues - but in the end, they get new transmissions. The issues are leaks, I've not seen reports of any other 4xe transmission issue and that's amazing considering it's not just a transmission, it also contains the MAIN drive motor for the 4xe!
We happen to have one of the 4xe JLUs that had the transmission leak. The dealership must follow Jeep's processes and procedures on "repair". That means they had to try a gasket, then they had to try a pan, then they were told to try no gasket but use only RTV - in the end, we got a new transmission and it took under a month. It's now perfect.

The local Jeep Dealer is replacing the whole transmission- In Santa Fe, NM there was another Gladiator with the same issue- it was a 6 month repair- Hoping mine is sooner and lasting- Fingers Crossed!

2020 Gladiator Max tow, 8 speed auto. 13,000 miles on the odometer.

Transmission started slipping majorly when it is shifting from 3rd gear to 4th gear (like it goes into neutral for a moment, then bangs into 4th with a surge)

No reverse intermittently.

Check engine light came on.

Took to dealership right away. Was told that vehicle will not even be looked at until January 3rd, (16 days from now) because I don't have an appointment.

Service advisor asked if I wanted to drive the truck back home and make an appointment and bring it back then. Hhhmmm....probably not a good idea to keep driving the vehicle in its current state, as it will likely cause further damage, leave me stranded once again, and void my warranty. So I declined bringing it back, and left it at dealer. Like I really had a choice?

I asked for a loaner vehicle or rental, because I am now without a vehicle for at least 3 weeks, was told that warranty does not cover loaner vehicle, and that it has not even been determined if this is a warranty issue, which is laughable.

Here's the worst part. I have had this truck towed to the dealership twice already. For issues not related to the current problem. The previous issue ended up being the PCM, which left me stranded twice. I thought I was done with issues with this truck. The reason I bought a brand new, nearly $50,000 vehicle is for piece of mind and reliability. You are supposed to be able to take these vehicles out to the middle of nowhere and back. Soooo disappointing!!!! Am I the only one that thinks that if there is a warranty related issue that I should be provided a vehicle while mine is being repaired? I'm still making payments on the vehicle, I'm still paying to insure the vehicle, I still need a vehicle to get to work every day. And it should be a comparable vehicle, I need a truck. That's why I bought one. Now I will have to rent a vehicle on my own dime? For several weeks? That could cost me thousands. This is unacceptable!! FCA needs to do the right thing here. What can you do to help me @JeepCares And I don't mean just opening a case file, giving me a "case number" and then taking no action, which is what happened the last time my brand new truck got towed into the dealership(twice). I mean take some action, and get me a comparable loaner vehicle while your company works on your companies faulty vehicle that I continue to pay for!

This is my 4th Jeep vehicle. I have been a loyal Jeep owner for the past 20 years. I'm hoping to stay being that loyal customer, but I'm considering changing that. Hey @JeepCares My Jeep Gladiator is at Jack Powell Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Escondido, California. If they can't provide me a vehicle, then get me one from another local dealership or rental car business, ASAP. I would love to be able to post on this site about Jeep taking care of me, the consumer. Please help me do that @JeepCares
I’m a little late to the party, but my 2020 gladiator has been at the dealership for going in 3 weeks now - transmission doing same thing yours did.
I’m getting the run around from the service department AND Chrysler who I filed a claim with. Total nightmare. Service department says may take another month to get fixed! Lemon Law, anyone?!!

I hope nothing happens with my trans as my 37s and 4.88s just might be an issue. So far my dealership says there would be no problem. But..........

Hey all, i'm still a little new to the forum but have been reading up on a lot of the different posts. I've had my 2021 Gladiator Sport for a little over a month now. I absolutely love it. If I don't have anywhere to go, sometimes I'll just sit in it lol. I'm somewhat new to Jeeps. Definitely the Gladiator. I had a 1998 Cherokee Sport in 2000, but that's about it. Oh and I loved that vehicle as well, it went places I never would have believed. I've been a RAM pickup owner since my 98 Cherokee. So with going to my Gladiator, I knew there would be an adjustment period for me. For example, after a few weeks of driving my Gladiator, I started to notice a little "shucking" or U-joint clunk. I brought it back to the dealership and the tech brought me back to show me my jeep while it was up on the lift. He showed me that there was only 1 u-joint and that was up towards the front of the vehicle and that what I was feeling was normal play at the rear CV joint, that goes into the rear differential. He said it was normal and that I was good to go. So, I went on my way.
Last week while I was driving up a hill, I felt what I thought to me was a slip in the tranny, around the 3rd gear. Of course I had a mini heart attack. But haven't noticed anything since then. I have a warranty so i'm not too worried. However, should I get the tranny serviced or anything at this time? Just wondering if anyone had any advice.
It has 39K and I've driven it about 2k since buying it.

Thanks!
E

Do you have warranty? Dealership should look at that issue.
