A mileage observation.

So I just traveled from Michigan to Arizona in a 21 Rubicon not modified in any way. I started the trip prior to leaving the house and this is the result. 87 octane and automatic transmission with 4:10 rear end. Combination of mountains, hills and flatlands. Even cross and head winds. I stayed 5 mph below speed limit except when posted 75, I reduced by 7 mph. When transmission shifted up and down close together, I shifted to manual to M7 until mileage went up. Sweet spot was 1700-2500 RPM. Thought I’d share my experience. Off to Zion later next week.

Oh I put around town very slowly myself. But on the highway I will be doing 80 min. I ain't got time for going slow.

I know adding an aftermarket steel bumper and winch along with bigger tires (285 70R17 Nitto RG tires) would reduce my mpg's, but I'm still getting 19 mpg in mixed hwy/city

Great observation and even greater restraint to drive under the speed limit. Hats off to you.
