Added cold air intake. Was hoping for it to be louder

Hey everyone, I have a 2025 Jeep gladiator that I thought I would just throw a rough country intake since I was getting some new headlights. Figured it was cheap enough and I heard it was kind of loud which is what I like so I went ahead and purchased it.

The problem is I traded my 20/20 that had an aftermarket hood and a valian

t cold air intake and I feel like it was a much louder intake than the rough country. At the time cold air intakes were definitely cheaper but I did not pay more than $180 for it. Has anybody else come across an intake that they feel is much louder and you can hear it when you get on to it after about 2K RPM. The rough country is quiet till about 3500 RPM in my opinion.

When I was in my '20s
fifty years ago
I wanted my fuel injected
four-cylinder Volvo
to make more noise.

I installed a "rally" exhaust pipe
with straight through low back pressure
"cherry bomb" style mufflers.

To increase the airflow
for the intake system
I drilled scores of 5/8" holes
all over the intake side
of the air filter canister.

It made a satisfying increase in noise.

Its louder at 3k+ because that seems to be when the VVT and lift rolls in, causing more air induction and more power while holding the intake valves open for longer. My mopar intake pipe that eliminates the resonators is growling at the same range.

Solution? Skinny pedal down!
