Depends somewhat on the model you have I believe. You probably need to replace the wiring harness inside the door so it has the pigtail needed to plug into the ends of the handles. I didn't but I had already replaced the full harnesses when I did the locks.

Several places sell the full retrofits including AllMoparParts ...
https://www.allmoparparts.com/part-model/jeep-gladiator-passive-entry-kit.html

Lots of instructions around on doing this including over on the JL forums
https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/fo...nstructions-parts-links-on-jl-wrangler.49241/

But basically, once you do that you just need a OBD programmer (Tazer, Jscan, OLFA etc..) to enable it and it just works.... Or you convince your dealer to add the GXD sales code :)
Thanks. These things are just really big Legos.

Will this work without buying the interior door lock switches?

I think so.

Only two wires to the switches and they are only momentary not latched so doubtful there is any sort of sensor

You have to physically grab the handle to unlock and then press the button on the handle to lock but yes it unlocks/locks all the doors at once.

"All doors" is actually an option you set in the BCM configuration as the default is only one door. Default is also the annoying "honk" on lock so I turned that off too.
You don't have to grab. Just stick your fingers behind the handle. Don't even really need to touch it.

The unlocking all or 1 is exactly the same with or without passive entry. Any power locks even without passive entry have the option to unlock one or all.
It's for security - I tell my wife to only set hers to unlock the driver door. That way no one can be lurking on the other side waiting for her to unlock her Jeep and hop in when they hear the passenger door unlock.
Her Jeep gets set to unlock only driver door.
Mine gets set to unlock all because of how I use it, and because it's easier for when she's with me on trips, etc.

HAHAHAAHAHAH!!!!!

I figured out how to use 3 button keyfobs on a Wrangler JL SPORT!!!!!!!!!!!!

This was a dealer keyfob I had previously programmed to my vehicle and knew if I stuck to it, I would be able to figure it out. Its way easier than I thought though.

First get a licensed version of AlphaOBD. JSCAN will NOT work.

1. Connect to vehicle with ALphaOBD and approved obd device. Make sure your using your security by pass cable.

2. Connect to BCM.

3. Select Active Diagnostics

4. Go to bottom of list and look for "Car configuration change" and select it.

5. Go down page to VehConfig 3-RKE System Present and select it.

6. Click the white box next to "Select Value".

7. Select YES.

8. Click Start.

9. Click Next to change value.

10. ENJOY OEM KEYFOB with WRangler JL SPORT!!!!! I'm sure this will work for JT models as well.

I have yet to see something AlfaOBD can change that jscan can't. Sometimes it's under a different name, but if it's a selectable menu item in the config - it's likely there. You do have to select the correct module and know what jscan calls it, though.

It looks like you can add oem remote start without buying anything but a key fob with the extra button and have it programmed to the car. The rest requires a licenses alphaobd programmer. I have a manual transmission so I can’t confirm that. I might test it to see if it would work on my car if I got a compatible remote….

Quick update ... after a lengthy backorder delay, I finally got the wiring harness and lock assembly to put a power lock in the tailgate. Easy enough install but no luck. Guessing I don't have the full wiring running to the rear of the truck. :(

Ah well, something to ponder when the weather is warmer and I feel like checking every connector for missing pins :)

Does anybody know how to tell if my Sport has the full body harnesses running to the doors? I want to try this project but unsure of which harnesses I have. And I’d prefer to do this oem.

What year is your JT?

The easiest way to to look at the body side of the door harness. If its full or mostly full then you are good ... If it only has a couple wires, then likely you don't.

I've never been able to find a complete pin out for the connectors but piercing together a couple wiring diagrams I believe you need to have at least Pin 26 (Green/DarkGreen) and Pin 27 (BrownGreen/Green) which are thick wires (power for the locks), Pin 17 (BrownGreen/Brown) for the switch, and Pins 6 (Violet/BlueGreen) and Pin 18 (Violet) which are the door ajar sensors.

If you are missing Pin 15 (Green/white stripe) and Pin 16 (Green/yellow stripe), but mostly everything else, you are probably good to go except for the proximity locks. You would need a custom harness to add those pins and plug back to the body computer. Several people off those as part of the proximity kits (including @AllMoparParts.com).

Obviously there are a bunch of other pins... lock status, power windows, power mirrors, lights etc...
