I have 4 mounted on the beadlock rings and my spare mounted the conventional way with the rock ring.

the beadlock ring has a flat back but the rock ring is angled down to fill a gap you get when mounting the tires conventionally. Could you put a beadlock ring on in place of a protection ring, sure. But you would be left with a nice crevice for all sorts of debris to collect

The bolts are also different sizes, with the beadlock bolts longer than the rock ring bolts
Do you have any photos of the spare with ring mounted conventionally?

Doing deep dive on wheels and wanted an upgrade but the weight holds me back and the backspacing for poke which I don't like. I would like a stock fit 7.5" wheel to keep weight down and still do a beadlock and the Mopar 392 Wheel 22-23 is the only one. I find nice ones for sale locally but the beadlock ring is hard to find. Seems like they might not be sold anymore and they go for almost $400 so dealing with replacing them when a scrape will be a downer at those prices.

The Borah I really like the look but they are 8.5" and come in a 43lbs with the beadlock ring. Real heavy but the backspacing is the best for 8.5" and the cost of the rings is not bad at all. I'm going lopsided going back and forth on keeping weight down but getting something different I like.

Go on rubitrux.com and look at their take off page. They normally have the 392 wheels from jeeps they’ve modified.

Thanks for the Tip! I did find the wheels locally. It is the Only 6.0 back spacing wheel that can bead lock but the rings are discontinued. They barely ring and poof now gone. There is another shop making them but plan and not as nice as factory look.

By the time I get a used set of wheel and locking rigs, they are the same price as these Borahs and the ring from AEV are cheaper. The Borahs look much better and also the best back spacing. IF you go turn a 7.5" wheel into bead lock then you go to 8.0 which you could barely run a 12.5" tire but be lighter then 8.5" wheel. On the other hand a 8.5" wheel into a bead lock goes to 9.0". This is better for running a 12.5" tire but not the best. 10" wheel would fit best with a 12.5" tire to get the max height. This is shown on the tire manufactures sites when you look at specs. The good ones will tell you the wheel width they used to get the height they claim. The Borahs 9.0 bead locked width is prefect for my 11.5 but the weight of the wheel is the downer. I know Ill cave since there is no wheel with that prefect backspacing I want.
