AFE Momentum HD Cold Air Intake 3.0L Diesel

Anybody try this out yet? I like the fact that it replaces / smooths out the intake plumbing.

Im using this, not sure if it is a large power increase. I feel like the seat of the pants acceleration is slightly better. I did it to ensure free flow of cool air to the turbo. It makes some noise that seems strange compared to other turbo diesels I have put CAI's on.

So…by strange…what do you mean?

It makes a fluttering kinda sound on acceleration sometimes. Others have said Im hearing the turbo variable vanes more because of the open intake. Dunno, but I have had no issues. If you look at the stock tube going to the turbo inlet, it has a bunch of "nibs" for a better work internally, like a sound suppression type of deal.

Yeah I can hear that sound on mine stock. To me, it sounds like a muffled flutter or pop off valve.

It is the VGT cycling. If you look at my KN post with my instagram video you can hear what that intake sounds like with a hood vent and the underhood insulation all removed. Sounds great. Cant wait to str8 pipe it someday.
