This may be due to the ECU change. There's a thread in the Supercharger forum. It is causing an issue for the aftermarket products.

Probably it. I found some weird stuff on my 2021 Gladiator that has the new ECU. Installed a 8.4 radio out of a 2020 model in to my 2021 Gladiator and some of the engine gauges will not show up on the Off Road pages and I am thinking it is due to some software mismatching on the CAN BUS between the radio and the new ECU.

Oh shit... is there a month cutoff for this? I have a 9/21. I haven't attached the MX+ and paired to AlfaOBD as I haven't installed my stuff yet ( front trailcam and aux switches ). Am I hosed? Can plugging in with SGW not yet bypassed at least show whether compatible or not?

I do not know when the exact cut in was but I heard mid year 2021. I have a 7-21 build date with the new ECU so I suspect you probably have it also.

Best way to visually tell is to pop the hood open and look at the ECU on the forward drivers side. The new style ECU will have the connectors on top between it and the hood. The previous ECU model will have the connectors on the side between it and the engine.

I have used JSCAN to do tire size. speedometer changes and a few other things with no issue. Trailcam and Aux switches are probably BCM and should not be affected by the ECU change.

They're BCM for sure. Cool thanks for clarifying. If it's just engine tuning stuff then I am safe as no plans for that.

Off-road pages are weird anyway - if mine can't contact the mother ship, I don't even HAVE off road pages, they don't exist until it makes a call. It's likely to make sure I'm supposed to have it to begin with - I can get the cluster readings on the exact same stuff, but may drive a mile before ORP is even there.

Very interesting - I wish purchases through Amazon could update like that.
And oddly, somehow my Google apps and stuff have started updating like they should on my phone. The tablet always updated fine even when asleep.
I'll have to check and see if there are any changes I might need...........

EDIT - just checked and this latest is a fix for some Android 12 connection issues. Likely not an issue for me.

My ECU cables are on the side facing the engine. Not the top. This is a 9/21 build.

So a September 21 build has the old style like mine.

Interesting, so it is not a hard cut in date then and a YMMV situation.

Makes me wonder if the connectors are the same for both style PCM's and the same engine harness just routed different?

I'll take a pic. I am finishing up my front trail cam install and have to get at the washer pump. What a freaking nightmare. My hands don't fit anywhere. The PCM, metal bracket, and washer reservoir all one giant monstrosity screwed together!

Found a pic on a tuners website showing the two. Connectors look similar and it seems doable for them to use the same engine harness save maybe taping the break out of the connectors off the main harness different. If so, I still find it odd that they would go back and forth between the two styles.

I do not feel like spending the money now, but the next time I have a Tech Authority subscription, will look up the IPC and wiring diagrams to see if they kept the same pin out and connector type.

Mine is definitely the GPEC2A.
