Im geting new tires installed on my Mojave. Going to 35x11.5x17. The dealer said I will need an alignment because the tire size is increasing. is that true?

No.
If you lift it, you may well need the steering wheel re-centered.
But tires alone can't change camber, caster or toe settings.
Frankly, I'd get the new tires and see how it drives and watch for tire wear that's abnormal. If you get certain feathered patterns, you may need toe adjusted, but don't pay 80+ bucks for that. There's posts here showing exactly how YOU can check toe and adjust the steering wheel centering IF even needed.

Awesome thanks man. I just told them no thanks to the alignment. They did recommend a fox steering stabilizer because of the bigger tires.

Can't hurt. Not necessary, but can't hurt.

It was on my list of things to upgrade anyway. I did keep the tires almost identical in weight to the stock tires so I was hoping that would keep everything close to stock driving.

following this... I'm almost ready for new tires and have been thinking of going to 35s on my Mojave with no suspension mods so I'm interested to see how this works out for you!

@PW45 Thank you for your service! 35's on stock Rubicon/Mojave............... Might rub, might not. Mine rub LCA at full turn when articulated. Did rub fender liner, pulled liner in 1/4" with a zip tie. 315/70R17s on stock fancy wheels.
@Jobofly the trend is going way from Fox. I have been running 35's on my stock Rubicon for nearly 60K miles and will be switching my steering stabilizer to a Bilstein along with my shocks next week.

I was looking at the Bilstein steering stabilizer. How do they perform compared to the fox?

My wife's JLU is rolling on 39's with KMC Beadlocks and stock stablizer, if the alignment is good (caster and toe) you dont even need to upgrade the stabilizer really. Its not gonna hurt anything, but the stock one does just fine even on big tires.

If you are going to upgrade just make sure that its neutrally charged so it wont push one way or the other.

I can't comment on the Fox but I installed the Bilstein/AEV on Sunday and think it is a considerable improvement over my stock JT Sport equipment.

I'm running 37 AT4Ws on a Rubicon with just a 1.5" leveling kit, no rubbing. You're not wheeling with this setup, but it'll work until you can get a proper lift on.

One thing to note about Bilsteins.... Solid shocks, but their housing looks absolutely terrible after a couple winters in Canada. I can only assume y'all use the same stuff on the road in upstate NY as we do in Canada.

I had 5100s on my JKU for 2 winters before they looked absolutely terrible.

You had bump steer? That's all they are supposed to do. They aren't for drivability or stability so if that changed, you have other factors, other things, going on that it's masking.
