BULLSHIT! maybe not covered by their warranty but what possibly would stop a do-it-yourselfer from just running a bigger power wire to the seat (that's the only thing I could think of that would limit it, unless the seat pan itself wouldn't allow for it....)

So heated seats will still work without perforation, but for the Degreez cooling to work i bet it needs airflow.

That WAS my plan.

But i did have to replace the foam on my seat pan in the JK once. I'm not sure how the air would run thru there with out major modification

That's strange, can't you add the degreez system in a JL Wrangler? I thought you could. I'm glad I went with the leather seats since I considered getting cloth and upgrading to katzkin with degreez

Katzkin issue! Mods you may want to move this.

So I picked up my JT from the install shop today. I had the Overland style Katzkin Black leather with Silver stitching installed.

Bad news first:
The install was ok but I was more concerned about the specific design for the the JT which has different back seats then the JL.
As we all know, Katzkin leather seats are great...but like oem it’s not all leather. There’s leather where you butt and back touch, leatherette on the sides, behind the seat and bolsters. And then cloth elsewhere.

Well during inspection my installer and I both noticed that the leatherette or vinyl was already starting to tear.

We looked closely at how it was designed and it’s area we think that this particular section should just be made of cloth. It on the hinge on a bluster portion which looks like it as to stretch over plastic. Just gonna last.

Needless the installer is going to notify Katzkin and ask them to change the material and redo my back seats. As they said, we will do of these and it’s better to get ahead of this now.

Overall the install was ok, this is my 3rd go around with Katzkin...and the product met my expectations with expectations above. If I had Overland premium cloth seats I may have stuck with it but the Sport seats weren’t that great to me or my wife.

So the heated seat works with the solid leather. That's good to know. So if the Degreez is out, at least with my Bayou seats I can retain the factory heated-ness?
