Amazon snorkel?

Just seen this and I'm actually thinking of getting it lol

Any one running this on their gladiator ? Looks like a allibaba product, or something, cause there's no actually picture of it installed properly. Also not to sure it doesn't specify if you need to do any cutting on the hood.

It's a knockoff (or replica) of the rugged ridge snorkel (who knows if this is the exact rugged ridge one, but you dont see ARB's snorkel on Alibaba), found on alibaba for cheap

Probably not a bad snorkel but i would seal each joint before trying to ford any water

its looks like its exactly the same as the rugged ridge snorkel which replaces the passenger side cowl. The issues with these snorkels even the rugged ridge one is the cheap plastic parts start to fade in the sun. There is a reason why the AEV kit costs $600.

If I were to do this I would only run the low snorkel unless I was off roading. And I would get the plastic cowl pieces painted.

I think I will order one for my wife's Rubicon on Amazon for $129

Put this is the way I did it
Cut a hole in the top and machined an adapter for the scoop
I did not like running the snorkel up the window pillar obstructing my view
I don't know if it helped with HP or MPG put it is getting 100% fresh cool air

I'm running the aliexpress one and all's good. It comes with the reinforcing brackets to stop the pipework under the jubilee clips from collapsing. It's also 113 degrees+ here and no fading of the plastics in 12 months.

If I'm honest, it's to get the air intake out of the sand and dust on the roads here and to get 'cool-er' air.

Both are plastic, one cost a lot less.

I had that problem with the rugged ridge. The plastic piece that snaps into the are box where the hose slides over collapsed
I called rugged ridge for a replacement. not available
They told me I had to buy a hole new snorkel . NO THANKS
I took a heat gun and fixed it and now no hose clamps and no more collapsing
Don't need hose clamps . Ones the hose is pushed on it ant going any were
I will order this one from Amazon for $129 for my wife's Rubicon

I have one also. I did have to seal the mounting point due to someone trying to use it as a hand hold, kids..., but it's just as good as the $600 options. They also have one that matches and Mopar Snorkle for less than $200. I don't know for sure but ide imagine it's the same situation.

I've seen some interesting stuff on Alibaba, specifically fenders, but can't find anyone who's using them...

Did you have to remove grill for install? Does the ambient air tube still come out on this version?

Yes you do to remove the forward facing air intake. After 5 years I notice the snorkel is cracking around the mounting bolts so has lost its integrity. The plastic quality may not be quite up to RR standards.

Use UV compliant and plastic/rubber compliant paint, even black. This will help fight cracking overtime. Generally though, aerosol paints are NOT plastic/rubber friendly and will deteriorate them even faster.

But for $100ish, I might see what I can work up!
