My wife doesn't get back from Europe until midnight on the 11th, but no matter because they won't have anything ready for a while anyway.......
I did discuss final accessories, and other stuff today, and got some info I wanted on a couple of future items.

Scott pulled it around and parked it next to my hydro blue Overland and in minutes people were asking about it - including a couple of sales people - he told "sorry, sold".

So it's here, still has to go through all sorts of prep and such, and unpackaging stuff so it will probably be next week.

That's the sunrider in the back - that will take some doing, and learning. Sounds like you have to completely unbolt and remove every bit of it to put freedom panels back on, it doesn't just latch into rails or anything. Ironically, they have never sold one and didn't know anything about them.

PS- I think my camera went into some sort of self-preservation mode as I couldn't find a way to get accurate pictures of this thing in the sun. It was indeed almost blinding, as if the green was powered all by itself. So it looks darker here than reality. I almost popped over to my 22 and grabbed my sunglasses.

I've been on the sideline and previously said I would be real tempted if they dropped Mojito, Joose, or Nacho. Sadly, that's right where I find myself now.

By the way, the sunrider is a very simple installation. Literally, just 2 bolts on each side, two bolts in the center of the hardtop. So, 6 bolts in all. Simply check alignment on each side before tightening everything down and I typically just put a light to snug on everything. Never had an issue with it coming loose. I have installed and removed by myself many time, as I keep the cloth off of it in the winter. Still, super easy with 2 people and it isn't really difficult with one if you just stage up a bit at a time and lay it on towels over the back as you nudge it forward. Staging and nudging is probably best if you have any back concerns.

My back is an issue and I to this day tend to abuse it. I'll end up like my neighbor with fused bones there one of these days.

I have kept some of the old blankets and stuff my wife has thrown away for use in the garage for this sort of thing, so I can cover the roof and slide things in place. Great idea.

It's not so much their own prep - they'll have that done in short order.
But part of the deal was that they have a 4x4 specialty shop install the power steps.
It's very likely they won't be in until the end of the week or first of next week. But - it can always go back for that if there's a long wait.

And - I can't pick it up until at least Saturday at the soonest anyway - assuming my wife is awake enough for the process of final paperwork.
I got things started today - figured she hated any back and forth, discussions on anything, so it will be just a matter of her being "AND" on the title and financial papers.

And yes, it absolutely does. Found out all X package Gladiators do.

My son called a couple of weeks ago and said he and his son are flying up from Florida for a quick weekend visit the first of May. He asked if there would be a vehicle he could use to go up and visit his other relatives in northern Iowa.
Barbara looked at me and said "you aren't going to let him use the new truck if it gets here before then, are you? Can't he use your little Eagle?"

Good thing he grew up knowing how to drive a stick if he uses the Eagle.

Thanks for the kind words. It can be fun goofing with videos, but I've had to set the camera aside for a while due to other responsibilities. However, I hope to get back to it sometime soon.

Oh, and fair warning, I don't open and shut at speeds or winds greater than say 25, because the wind WILL CATCH IT LIKE A SAIL! However, I'm guessing you have good arm strength if you've spent a lifetime pushing your back and everything else. Still, just keep it such things in mind as the wind can take any of us by surprise.

Just put mine on yesterday…the sun was out and in the 50’s in PA so it was time. 4th season using mine and I’ll probably take it off in November. 15 minutes between popping the freedom panels off and putting the flip top on once you’ve installed it a couple times. @ShadowsPapa it’s a great investment with the Gladdy knowing you can flip it open and close it with inclement weather at a moments notice. Enjoy!

If you're going to be installing and removing the Sunrider yourself, about the only thing you need to watch is the wind.
You'll be trying to control a huge sail or kite if it's windy.
If you do it in the garage with overhead closed, then it won't be an issue.
