Anemic A/C

I bought my ‘24 JTR new in Jan of 2025. It has always taken a long time to get the A/C to make cool air (5-10 minutes.) If I put the A/C in recirculating mode, I eventually do get really cold air. Is this the nature of these beasts? And, duh, I know I need to check the system charge. I’ve just been lazy and haven’t done it. Just curious to see if others have experienced this.

I have a 20 and have never needed to charge it. The AC blows cold whenever I need it, which is nice on a hot day with the doors off.

Is it black? My 21 which was blue cooled really good. My wife's JL does as well. It is Yellow. My 24 ( is black ) takes a minute if it is sitting out in the sun all day at work. If it is in the shade it cools down really quick. Once it gets cool it will stay cool. I also think the older style dash with the round vents in the middle worked better than the flat vents that are below the screen.

I do have the flat vents under the screen. I’m under warranty, but my dealership is over an hour away. I will have my local shop, which I trust, check out the refrigerant charge. Thanks!

Check/ change the cabin air filter. The filter being dirty is amazingly restrictive.
