I got 25 mpg from Des Moines to KC and back with AC on, 70 mph cruise control with my Sport.
That's better than I get Des Moines to KC. I got less than 20 and due to Covid related shortages, we were not filled to the brim with Ikea liked we planned. This is with a Sport Max Tow with Rubicon wheels/tires.

Different gearing.
It makes a difference in mileage.

For me it doesn’t seem to differ much at all. Roughly 17+ mpg. I also always drive with windows down and a/c....especially this time of year.

Cant get enough open air I guess.

Mine is stock 3.73 gears. No tow with stock Wrangler alloys and 275/70R/17 Coopers.

A long time ago someone told me running the A/C with windows up gets better gas mileage than A/C off and windows down. I completely understand one of the objectives of owning the JT is the convertible, and I actually love the roof off as well. And I also understand the JT is never going to get "good" mileage. But I'm just wondering if anyone here has ever actually measured; and if so is the difference significant, especially over a longer drive.

But my JT is not really for just “transportation.” ... My last car was a civic. I was mostly grumpy in that.
Exact same here man. I had a Civic SI for 2 years up until a month ago. Man... for as fun as annual transmission CAN be, daily driving in Orlando traffic is not the place for it. It was tiny, cramped, bumpy as hell, and only got marginally better MPG than my Gladiator.

Half the price, but whatever... lol
