I looked and looked how people mounted their phones. Decided on integrating two ideas. ProClip adjustable holder for small to medium case. I Phone XR with Otter case. Hooke Road phone dash mount drink holder.

I used just the bracket on the phone/cup holder. Had to drill 4 holes to mount the ProClip adjustable base. Mounting the base in the truck took about 15 minutes. Be careful removing the central control board. The plastic is very soft and will dent and scratch very easily. I got the control board off enough to get my fingers behind it and just kept working the control board off. Just let it rest on the shifter. Used 10mm to remove the grab handle. Long bolts but very easy to remove. Have to remove cover on the right side to get to that bolt. The bracket just mounts behind the left side bolt. Very strong bracket. The control board just clips back in place. Again this plastic is very soft. Use your fingers. Finished mount is at a perfect angle for the driver. The phone will block the vent some but an acceptable trade off for me.
