Has anyone had luck with hooke road parts? I ordered and received a set of steps for my gladiator. The brackets were welded incorrectly. They refuse to replace or refund the parts. PayPal did not provide a resolution other than return parts on my dime for a full refund. The return shipping was 3x the value of the part.

The steps are mounted about 3 inches forward on the brackets.

Not being a smartass, but how would they line up if you switched sides?

Lol. No problem. I tried to swap sides but the bracket spacing is different between the mounting holes.

Honestly, I am betting that a local machine shop or body shop would cut the brackets and realign for less than $100 if you were friendly and flexible on time.

Kinda odd that paypal didn't resolve in your favor, they usually heavily favor the customer. Were you clear that the things are defective? I think they are using AI now for their first line of reviews, may be worth filing an appeal.

If u notice, it looks like they designed so that the tubes end where the metal of the body ends. Lazy engineering. I would rather the proportional look u were after.

Yeah. They called it resolved in my favor by calling it a return with 100% refund. Yet the vendor wants the parts shipped to China at my expense. This costs more than the parts did initially. So the only way I get a refund is if the vendor receives the parts and deals them in good condition. I do not recommend dealing with Hooke Road.

i run the exact same ones, i dont think i had any alignment issues. but the hardware supplied isnt the correct size. it is almost to small for the mounting holes. i have a large assortment of bolts and nuts, so it wasnt a big problem. other than that i have no complaints.

I have the front inner fender liners. I had to do some cutting on them to make them work but for the price I ultimately was okay with it. There was not a notch for the electrical connection for the fender lights.

I have seen plenty of Hooke listings on Amazon; it is normally for cheap crap made in China.

Look like yours fit forward as well. Yes the hardware was cheap. I reused my original and replaced the pinch seam bolts.

Maybe I am just being too picky. I would expect them to line up with the fenders versus the body lines. Mine sit under the front fender 3 inches and forward of the rear fender by about the same.

I looked into relocating the bracket mount but the pinch seam bolts wouldn't line up then. I don't know how I feel about drilling holes on a thin spot welded seam.

yes i think it might be by design, instead of lining up with fenders it basically lines up with the cab/pinch weld but the steps line up with doors correctly

The pictures on their website show the steps lining up with the fenders. A bit disappointing if there is some false advertising. The steps are solid no doubt. I am also disappointed in the customer service.

i agree, when i found out about the hardware being too small i contacted them and told them it was too small, they sent me a new hardware kit, but was the exact same as first ones. i contacted again and they told me it was the proper ones. like i said i used different hardware anyways, and for the price i wasnt to worried about it... personally i didnt look at the alignment on the website
