I’m thinking if I keep my 8.5x28 I’m going with a camera too. Maybe even the two side cameras that look like marker lights.
I’m also thinking I may want to downsize trailers since selling my dually 3500. It’s tough to find trailers right now though.

yikes, 28’ is a big trailer. What’s the empty weight on that? I haven’t towed anything that size with my Gladiator but my gut instinct is that I wouldn’t want too, haha. But I also haven’t tried a w/d hitch yet, so maybe that improves things more than I imagine.

I definitely recommend the camera, money well spent.

you’re right about it being hard to find trailers right now. If you find a dealer with one in stock, you basically have to go that day. When I was shopping I missed out on a couple. Came in on Friday, sold by Monday.

It’s right at 3100 empty. I’ve always had big diesel trucks and this is the first time I don’t. Sold my fifth wheel and truck at same time. I’m torn on getting another one or enjoying my budget how it sits lol.

I’m not going to lie, I was pretty nervous driving it. I couldn’t see anything in mirrors at all. I planned my route so I didn’t have to back and didn’t have to make any tight turns. Backing would be a little tough if it needed to be precise.

Trailers are marked up almost as much as lumbar right now. Trailer just like mine is 2500$ more than I paid. So crazy.

Bought an 8.5x16 enclosed yesterday 5hrs from home towing with no drop felt pretty good but the dealer said I should be running a 4” drop. Tried it for about 15 miles swapped back to the no drop. To much sway with the 4”. Anyone have tow mirrors or w/d recommendations.

dual axle trailers should be towed perfectly level.......... I've got some great videos on why, and what happens if you don't.
Don't think about the "drop" - think whatever it takes to make the trailer level and the load the same on both axles. AND - make sure the weight is over both axles. Load the trailer properly.

And - do you now have a WDH with sway control on that thing???

Ya with just the empty tongue weight I think a 2” would have been correct. I need to find a WDH with the right bar length the dealer didn’t have one in stock. Do you have any recommendations?

Pretty nice trailer!! 👍 if you can’t get ahold of a WDH go for one of those adjustable hitch things that give you a few different heights. Heavier load higher setting. Had to go a 2” rise when towing with my Transit van. Leveled me out pretty good for dragging a tractor to the house.
