Anyone using the Ready Brute Elite II tow bar to Flat Tow

I used one on my 2016 Sahara a few years back and it worked perfectly. Not sure about using one on a Gladiator. Anyone using this tow bar???

I'm running the earlier Ready Brute Elite - works quite well on both our JT and our older 2017 JKU. I'm still working on getting the new 2022 JLU set up.

Also I have used the mopar flat tow harness on our 2016. I wonder if it exists for the gladiator yet?​

Just check the weight rating on the bar. the JT is a bit heavier than the JL/JT. I scaled mine and I'm just over 5K so need to swap my blue ox out to something else if I plan to tow it.

So is that like a surge brake setup? How does the wire get routed, what happens on steep hills? Been thinking about flat towing. We did this a couple weekends ago

Yes it is a cable that connects to the brake pedal in the jeep and runs to a surge brake lever built into the front of the tow bar mount. It always worked on my 2016 unlimited.

Yeah, the braking system impressed me when I first saw it. First used it on our 2017 JKU and then added the brake cables to my Gladiator when we bought it in 2020. We've since sold the 2017 JKU and replaced it with a 2022 JLU and I'm in the process of setting it up. For wiring I built my own version of the Cooltech harness - uses a switch to connect the Jeep's tail lights to either the Jeep's wiring or the RV's wiring. Works quite well, but it does require cutting in to the Jeep's wiring harness.
