Just picked up my base Sport model. Yes Bigfoot does exist. Took way too long and they ended up not having enough time to install my hard tonneau or my step bars. But the sales guy and I put on my Bestop Sunrider. Grab handles fit easily around the roll bar. Going back tomorrow to get the tonneau and step bars put on. A few pictures for now. Oh and yes I loved the ride.
Congrats! I dig the steel wheels! It’s a unique look for sure

Yesterday when I took delivery of my truck we got the Sunrider on but they didn’t have time to install my Mopar hard tonneau or my N-Fab Predator Pro step bars. So I went there today and they were all full up with appointments and could not work me in. So I grabbed my own tools that I brought with me and I installed the tonneau myself. Got an appointment for Saturday to get the step bars put on. Also put on Rugged Ridge step guards. Also never posted a picture of my antenna. It’s just 3” tall and works great. Already had a matching spare before the truck came in. Getting that put on now. Just don’t want to have a flat and be stuck rolling down the road with a spare wheel that does not match the other ones. Went to my stereo shop today and they are still researching the right stereo that does even that I want it to do. Zero rush here, must get this item right the first and only time.

Oh and someone asked yesterday if I could reach over and roll down the passenger window and I did not think I would be able to do that due to the center console being in the way. But I tried it today and I can easily do it. Wouldn’t not try that while going down the road. Can also easily reach over to unlock that door.

Also discovered something rather interesting today. While driving I can get a view from the rear camera of cars behind me and the road flying by. Only works for about 10 seconds. Just astounding!

And in case anything is wondering the tailgate of my base Sport truck says “SPORT” on it. Really fun truck.

VW people say, R is the fastest letter of the alphabet.
Sir I assure you I do not give not two shits what a vw person spouts from their exhaust pipe. Those assholes lied about emissions! My gawd, the whole ASS argument would fall to pieces if that leaked out. All of use Jeepers being forced to have an ASS insert in our engine, and the VW people just lie about the whole deal. T:LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL:errible!

meh, they make cute cars though. I love my 2.5L transverse 5 cilinder engine, sounds lke a mini V10, makes nice vroom vroom noises. all cars are bad for the environment... we're all lying to ourselves.

Seriously though what's the ASS argument?....
Wait I just figured it out. Auto Stop Start...

Apparently the federal government requires all manufactures to get a certian % of their fleet/offerings to meet a certain ammount of environmental friendly-ness, more and more every year. I was told by a toyota dealier this is Toyota hasn't had to put crap into the tundra, tacoma, 4runner.... because their overall fleet/offerings has a lot of hybrid options and they check all the boxes they need to with their other cars. Jeep has to streach to make their truck a bit environmentally friendly, because the federal gov is requiring it.

as a side note... I am really interested in what the Gladiator has for a Starter Motor. I've been reading about starters and they're all, almost a universal design bar the new ASS cars.

Well you've got me there. Anything new ASS, must be good! What gets me are ASS enthusiasts. Proponents of ASS?! In what era was more better? It's always been less is more. Now suddenly we want more gadgets. You know, I've seen this before. Packrats. Yep. They collect junk cause it's shiny. whatever. I don't know anything about the new starters, but it does seem like we should keep the starters and dispense with the ASS if all it does is meet some regulation. I'm going to invest in the folks making a machine to moderate weather systems and by proxy bring this climate back to baseline. Then I won't need government mandated ASS and can just get that the old fashioned way. Now a climate machine, that's something worth Gladiator price.

@5JeepsAz we're getting off topic but you're right... its too late and we're probably not going to stop putting carbon into the atmosphere. only way wel'l be saved is with a technology that takes a lot of the carbon out

Went back to dealership today so they could put my Predator Pro steps on. And while there check out what they had for me to put under the back seats of my base Sport truck. Imagine that!

Very cool, @Jake, thanks for sharing details about your build. Did the under seat bin come with the lock that works with your key? Of, if not, is it lockable in another way (e.g. padlock)?

Hey @giskard that is the one thing that has me slightly ticked off for the moment. Dealership parts manager told me it would come with locks and keys. I have this in emails from this parts manager. And it came without any locks or keys. I picked it up yesterday when I went in to have my step bars put on and a tire pressure sensor put on my spare. Parts manager will have to check with Jeep on Monday to find out where the heck my locks and keys are.

And just FYI when he ordered it he did not know if I could insert my trucks key into the lock and the lock would then learn my key or if it would come with a totally different key. Will find out more when they find out where my missing locks and keys are. Grrrrr.
