Hello;
I own a 2020 Jeep Gladiator Launch Edition with 20,000 miles on it. The vehicle was 800 miles from a scheduled oil change. Recently the check engine light came on. As a precaution I checked the oil and it seemed full. There were no apparent mechanical problems driving the vehicle before or after the check engine light came on. I took it to the dealership, and they indicated the right-side cam shaft needed to be replaced. Apparently, there is a TSB out on this problem. While the car was being diagnosed, I had them change the oil. I was informed the needed part was on back order, and the vehicle was safe to drive. So, the repair was not conducted during this visit Driving home the check engine light remained on. The next morning when I started the vehicle the check engine light did not come on. It's two days later at this point, car has been driven another 100 miles and no check engine light?? The vehicle is still under warrantee, but I'm not crazy about the idea of having my engine pulled apart to replace a cam shaft. Does anyone have any idea what is going on here, or any advice as to whether or not I should proceed with the repair when the part comes in? Thanks
