I searched the forum but I couldn't find any information on spring rates. I have a 2023 Sport S that has a hardtop and is pretty heavily optioned. I really like the handling of the Max Tow. It corners fairly flat and I do not have the side to side rocking motion of my Rubicon that had a 2" lift and 37's. The Rubicon has the original Fox shocks with 47,000 miles. The ride is softer than the Max Tow and more compliment. I am adding 1.5 spacers in front and .75 in rear. This is mainly for clearance, and well looks with the 315/70r17 tires that I added. I have new take off Rubicon springs from a hardtop with steel bumpers that had pretty much every option. Does anyone know the difference in spring rates? Or, opinions of if adding Rubicon springs an upgrade or downgrade with the aforementioned lift? I will not be towing so my primary concerns are ride, handling and lift. Thanks in advance for any input.

I looked today just in a Google search and found no specific information. How about the second part of my question. Has anyone put Rubicon springs on a Max Tow? Impression'? Keep in mind I am adding the 1.5 front and .75 rear spacers. Also I am not purchasing the springs as I already have them. Thank you for your input.

I have Rubicon springs on my max tow with 1.5" Terraflex spacers on the front. It was fine until i added a rack and rooftop tent to the bed. Today when I get off work, I plan on reinstalling the max tow rear springs to see if they will carry the load better. The Rubicon rear springs have way too much flex for overlanding gear. I am going to measure the droop before and after. I have about 400lbs in the bed of the truck right now.
I'm also wondering if the max tow shocks would be better than the Rubicon ones i have on there now. but I've found zero information on them.

I put Rubio shocks on my 2022 Gladiator Sport S that was not Max Tow. The ride quality seemed to be "softer" for lack of a better word.

On my 2021 Rubicon w/37's and AEV 2" lift they seemed soft as well. The on road ride was great. Off road it rocked from side to side excessively. They looked cool though!

On my 2023 Sport S w/Max Tow and 315/70's I truly think that the Max Tow shocks are much better than either of the others. They have a firmer more controlled ride and no rocking motion as on the Rubicon. Both before and after 1.5 spacers.

I stuck with the Max Tow springs for now.

Rubicons come with more than one spring rate, depending on the options/weight and so on.
But overall, they WILL have a lower rate or be softer. They are made to flex on rough trails, a purpose-made version of the JT.
Max tow rear springs are a higher rate than Rubicon or Overland, and are a good 1.5" or so shorter than Overland rear springs and yet hold the truck up nearly the same - so that tells you the max tow spring is a fair amount more "stiff" than Overland at least

Good point about the different spring rates depending on options. I find that fact somewhat poorly documented.

You can't find any info on the spring rates because Jeep/MOPAR/FCA/Stellantis hasn't shared any.
The few places you do see them, someone tested the springs they had and give a number.

There is no combination of OEM springs or shocks that will help with a heavy load on the JT.

You have to go to aftermarket to find relief.

There has been a few half hearted attempts to do a database of as delivered vehicles with their spring rates and factory options but nothing ever came of it. It also did not help that after the first or second year of production, seemed the part number series got reset to a different numbering sequence throwing everything out the window.

I am sure there is a master database decoder key at Jeep/Stellantis on spring rates but that will never see the light of day.

Really what you have here is a continuation of the situation under AMC - I need different front springs for my SX4 and all of the spring companies ask me to furnish the specs! Wish I knew the specs. You can get sort of close in the TRW replacement spring catalog I have, but not specific, and not for Eagle. They weren't published.

Synergy under the front of mine really handle the truck without the plow on it just as nicely as stock, yet a bit taller, and with the plow - they do really well as they are dual rate springs. Good ride and handling.

I took the rubicon springs I had in the rear off today and I installed the max tow springs. Lost 1” of height but gained stiffness. With me jumping up and down on the side of my bumper with rubicon springs I had 3.5” of travel. With the max tow springs I have 2”.
