I need help on this one. My air compressor shorted out during my last off-road trip. I've had it for just over a year and I've used multiple times without incident.
Here is how I had it set up.
Grimm Offroad mounting bracket under the wheel well.
The small ARB harness was plugged into the extension wire the Grimm provides (plugged in numbered below).
the small negative wire on the ARB side of the connector all the way to the compressor and back up the larger wiring harness leading back to the battery all melted.
None of the fuses were blown.
fortunately, both of the compressors still work individually but the top plate needs to be replaced for sure.
images are starting from the Grimm offroad adaptor connection and follow all the way back to the battery.
ARB says that because I had it connected to the Aux switch, they will not honor the warranty. it is salvageable/rebuildable and I'm willing to do the work, but I would very much like to know what I did wrong.
yes, removing this caused my other post about losing my brakes temporarily.
PS, no rubber duck on this one.

- black wire to ground on the right side of the engine bay.
- Purple wire went to aux 4 (I extended it to reach)
- the red wire was not used.
