Are all rubicon fog lights the same. I looked around and can’t find any info. Just wondering if the ones on the plastic bumpers are the same as the metal ones or if the plastic ones are the same as the overland and sport.

You have an option of led lights or non led lights(halogen I beoive) regardless of what bumper you choose. depends on which option you choose. I have the LEDs and had a plastic bumper. the LEDs are unbelievable. I replaced my bumper and moved my leds over to the new bumper.

I have a chance to buy a steel bumper but he took out the fog lights. So it doesn’t matter what lights I have they will fit?

Not sure. You may need an adapter. I know when I put my leds in the new bumper it came with something to be able to install non leds.

Are you able to find out what lights were installed in the bumper originally? the fact that it's a jeep bumper leeds me to believe that any stock fog light will fit

If the bumper is a good deal then you will make it work. It just might take a little extra work.

I re read your post. If he took the lights out I would guess they were leds. no reason to go through the trouble for cheap lights.. imo.

Rubicon/overland LEDs and Halogen lights mount the same across the board on all. Sports have different mounts than them. Not sure why jeep keeps choosing to do it that way and not make it the same across the board.

There is no way my overland halogens were going to fit. Took one off and went to bolt it on, not even close. I need to find some led’s anyone? Look in the forum I guess.

They are different between the plastic and metal... the metal have a 2 bolt mount and i think the plastic have 3... i also think all of the metals are led. you can buy an adapter which is a lot cheaper Than The factory steel bumper lights and gives you more options

How did you mount your plastic bumper LED fog lights to the steel bumper? Today I tried mounting my LED fog lights from my plastic Rubicon bumper to the steel bumper and I couldn't. I'm curious how you mounted yours and if you have the part number for the bracket.

I bought the steel bumper used. Perhaps the previous owner had purchased something for the lights. He sold it without lights, and mine just fit right in--no extra parts beyond what he sold me needed. If you need more info, quote this post and ask and I'll go take a photo once the sun comes up.

Edit: Okay, really had my curiosity up. 2 a.m. and I'm outside crawling under my Gladiator. Neighbors already think I'm nuts, so who cares? Anyway, photo. Just two bolts holding the OEM LED headlights removed from an OEM plastic bumper to an OEM steel bumper. Based on the conflicting information I was getting to source the right parts to mount a skid plate and winch to this bumper, I suspect that there has been some redesign on the steel bumper.

You can mount factory lights on a lot of aftermarket bumpers so if buying the metal bumper used, it would not surprise me if they scavenged them instead of doing aftermarket replacements like a lot of people do.

If you want pics of the Rubicon plastic bumper LED lights for comparison, I can take one in an hour or two... have a bumper sitting in the back of my truck to install later today.
