"Oh, I have the 8.4 Uconnect, no Alpine pack."
stock... basic...
I WAS WRONG! The 8,4" does come with the Alpine system in Europe. But it was not listed on the option list.
So I have to change my question :
Are the MB Quart 6x9" speaker really an upgrade
for an Alpine Equipped Gladiator?

And second question. I suppose I have also the sub in the center behind the seats. But when I pump up the base, I hear the soundbar speakers, but not much from behind the seats.
Is there an upgrade possible for the sub, keeping the stock amp and wiring?

I have been looking heavily into upgrading my 8.4 Premium system as well. I have read numerous threads about different products. It seems the premium amp is the lacking factor no matter what. Essentially without an aftermarket amp running different speakers there won't be much of a difference.

I really hate the thought of ripping everything apart to add an amp, additional subs to the factory sub, soundbar speakers, basically the entire thing. Some companies have full kits such as MB Quart and OEM Audio Signature Series but the latter is just over $3k which is ridiculous.

There appears to not be a different sub which is shallow enough to fit in the factory box. You can add subs in addition to the factory sub which some have done. That is the route I am considering, adding a second set of subs maybe under the rear seat with an amp then using the factory speakers more for mids and highs. That I believe seems to be the most cost effective way versus spending thousands to replace the entire system which we technically already bought.

Meanwhile I did install the MB speakers, with the inside op the box covered in Dynamat and filled with Polyfil. And what a difference it is! I had to lower my bass from +3 to -3. They really kick.
