Just traded in my JL for a Gladiator yesterday and I have noticed that the auto climate control does not keep me as cool as the setpoint. My JL worked well. The AC works fine when I switch to manual, so it seems like a control issue. I have an appointment scheduled with my dealer two weeks from now, but I was curious if anybody else has experienced this? Thanks

The JL was terrible. I find the JT to be even worse. I'm not sure what's so hard about this. The auto climate control in my Nissan Frontier worked perfectly.

Mine doesn't have that issue.

Same problem here. Nothing major just one more thing to deal with. But I like my truck so I am not going to complain too much about things.

I've noticed another non desirable trait of the Auto Climate control. It only blows air from the dash vents. If I select a mix to the floor, floor only or defrost it reverts the system to manual.
Is there a way to set the default vent use for Auto mode??

Umm... I’ve been driving for a long time, never used auto on any car...

What’s it supposed to do?

My Gladiator works the same as my JL. No problems with Florida heat.

To do any with all that fuss of turning the heat on if your cold and the ac on when your hot.
You set the temperature you want and the Auto Climate system should do what needs to be done to achieve and maintain that setpoint.

I'm not saying there is inadequate BTU's available to heat and cool. Its just that a high dollar Auto Climate system doesn't seem to perform as well as it should. Works great with manual settings. I guess there is a reason there is no actual cabin temperature indication.......

Mine seems to work fine. But I'm in Michigan...it doesn't get Louisiana hot here.

Work like a thermostat in your house. Set the temp and the truck does the rest.
Yeah which is awesome because it gets really annoying having to run the controls up, down, up, down, up, down as the weather changes every day.

I really never like the auto either because I like to control where the air is coming from. I did try it a few times, and other than where the air comes from, no complaints.

I found that mine works ok as long as the differential between actual and desired temp is not too great. But if its 85+ deg outside and climate is set to 65 it does not work very well. Seems to not realize it needs to blast air ..cold air...instead it seems to think I am willing to wait forever for it too cool down with low fan output. I think once summer hits here in Florida...I will not be using Auto anymore.
