They already tried that, kinda…There’s a plate and bolt on mine, covering up a hole just as you described!

So the dealer forgot to install that?

If it makes ya feel any better I just barely tried to pull my tab back and the sucker broke off . When I changed mine.
Ya pull the red lock tab back then push down to pull the connection apart .

Yes had oxygen sensor go bad and just prior had cam sensor go bad so I just went through and replaced crank sensor map sensor , temp sensor , oxygen sensor, and PCV valve . Preventive maintenance

And @Maximus Gladius it is a less than 5 min. Task to change all those except the PCV valve. The guy who decided to give 3 inches or less clearance was hoping that all the shop mechanics would have feminine sized hands.
I'd like to kick that guy in the Gonads. It took me quite a while to get it off and back in 45 min. Id say. I just couldn't get it pushed in to where I could turn it.
