I need to do another drain and fill soon. Now that I have a drain plug, I’m super tempted to drill a hole in the skid plate so I don’t need to remove it. But it would be quite difficult to find a funnel that would fit in that tight space.
Better mark it then remove skid before ya drill or ya might have a direct 😉 drain hole 🕳 😂 dear lord that would be horrible 😅

If you can use a permanent marker to mark it or just measure . Cut the hole with hole saw. Keep the piece use the hole in center to attach a flap could fashion a circular door .

I could, but I’m probably doing more work than is worth it. Oil changes, sure. But this will be 30k stuff. It’s only 6 bolts to pull that skid.

It wouldn’t be hard. Just a hole, some tabs, and a few small countersunk bolts. I’d just rather leave it stronger with fewer seams to catch on rocks.

Yeah 🎯 point well taken if a rock is scrapping past that area and suddenly encountered resistance in the form of the hatch/ lid it would rip it to streads

That’s my thought. I spent the time and energy to remove the big oval for oil changes, so I don’t think I want to cut a new one for the tranny.
