Same reasons as above. They are just standard run of the mill rocker switches, which makes them easily serviceable/replaceable. To me, in a vehicle that you're going to take into the woods/rocks and depend on it to get you back out, serviceability means a lot.Thanks for posting your experiences. Why did you choose this one versus the JL300 which fits in the lower dash?
Also, the location of these switches has got to be about 1000x more convenient than way down on the bottom of the dash behind your shifter/gear selector.
