Aux switches worth it?

Hey! I’ve decided to re order my gladiator in a different color so I’m reassessing options ordered

i know I need more than 4 switches for my intended use.
that being said is it worth it to get them anyway, knowing others are still needed? Is there something they do that an aftermarket setup won’t?

I really like the Voswitch I installed. I have the new version that is 4 switches and mounts in the same location as the factory switches. Fully programmable and you can swap the fuses so your not limited to 2 at 40 amps and 2 at 15 amps like the factory unit. It was a simple install.

I may have need for more than 4 aux switches in the future. But I'm very happy I got the factory switches. Having them already wired to both underhood and in cabin locations, plus already integrated into the display to set latching or temporary, and remember or reset on power up is great.

Value for bucks is up to each consumer to decide. For me, factory aux switches are a go!

I re-ordered my jeep as well, and opted in on the AUX switches- would recommend.

As far as functionality that non-OEM switches may not have, there is an integration with the Uconnect system, memory function (remembers if it were on/off when you turned you truck off), assigns switch type to each button, and whether the lights go on or not. Explanation of the AUX switch system starts on page 105 in the owners manual.

Basic functionality, but I appreciate the OEM integration and pre-installed wiring harness, so it was worth it for me.

They are a factory option and wired in, they can be adjusted to work several ways, and include the hot wires under the dash that can be used to power other accessories. Just the hot wires are worth the cost if you plan to add a dash camera, radio setup, or radar detector.

I think they are worth it. I have the diesel and there is very little room under the hood to do anything at all and pulling wires through the firewall will be a pain. My only complaint is the gauge of the wire used. It seems to skinny to me. If you are using a high amperage device that is voltage sensitive, I suspect you will have too much drop at even half the rated voltage. I have not done any testing, this is based solely on eyeballing the wire size. I was considering using one of the circuits for my ham gear, but will run a dedicated line of the battery to combat voltage drop and other potential issues with RF leakage.
