Pondering question for the group, that I haven’t been able to track down.
Every once in awhile 1 of my reverse lights come on when I start the Jeep…….the other back up light comes on/goes off in and out of reverse. Turn signals all work correctly. Then once I turn the Jeep off the drivers side back up lights stays on. Then eventually goes off. Start the Jeep back up, run through the gears and everything is fine..
Cant quite figure it out….
Any thoughts?????
Thanks in advance.

Do you have a Tazer? Are they the original lights?

And if the answers were no, and yes,
then I'd ask if it was under warranty and why not have the dealer fix it if it is.

Anyway, the problem with vehicle problems is that rarely are issues caused by the same root cause.
If there is a tazer, unmarry it and see how things go.
If they are not the original lights - then a lot is being left out of the story and everyone will simply be guessing.

Yes, installed a taser about 3 months ago, and it’s the original lights.
Update the Tazer to the latest firmware. Read up on the features on the ZAutomotive website. Specific numbers of presses on specific FOB buttons results in different actions. One of them has to do with the reverse lights.

I noticed this issue with mine a while back and realized it was the tazer. There is a live setting where if you hit unlock x number of times (i think 4 or 5), the reverse lights go on. Sometimes only one of mine would go on. Turns out I subconsciously hit my unlock button 147 times when approaching. Stoping that resolved my problem

Yeah I was freaking out the other week when I updated and reinstalled the tazer. Had to look at the manual to figure out what was happening. Now that I know how to turn it off it has come in handy a couple of times.

My wife does that...

I just use the door handle to lock/unlock, unless I need to open the tailgate.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one to first think of the tazer as the culprit!
