So I am going to open a holiday can of worms with a couple of questions.

First the important stuff: 2021 Willys S Eco-Diesel, 64,200 miles, I bought it new a hair over 2 years and 1 month ago. It is my daily driver.

Question #1-I still have the original batteries in the Jeep. During this really hot summer in Arkansas, should I pre-emptively replace them or continue to push my luck and be stranded a couple hundred miles from home. I cover about a 5th of the state (Northwest) for my job. Over the years, 90% or so of my batteries have failed in the heat of the summer. How long do we expect the Mopar batteries to last?

Question #2-If I do replace them, what recommendations might you all have? Both brand and size/model number. Especially for the small one. I have had really good luck with Duralast and Interstate over the years.

Now I will just sit back and wait for the fun to begin..........;)

There are a lot of threads about the batteries. The average life is about three years. Since you do a lot of long distance driving, they should last quite a while. It's the short trips and sitting unused that takes a toll on the batteries in these trucks. You'll know it's time to change them when you start getting the ESS or Aux Switch unavailable messages at startup.

Check your battery voltage after the truck sits a few hours. Use a real volt meter at the main battery.
Check the voltage with the truck running.

If you don't drive more than 30 minutes at a time it won't keep them charged up.

Lots of threads on the batteries including suggestions for brands and so on
