I had a issue back in September where my EVIC showed the stop / stop not available.. Its a 2021 with 50K miles. Figured I was lucky to not have either a main battery or aux battery failure to this point. The truck finally died going into the driveway when the voltage went to 8V in November / December timeframe
Did the Fuse 42 bypass and pulled the negative battery cable for the stop / start battery. Everything was good. In late December, my voltage on the EVIC went to 16+V and all sorts of dash lights came on etc. Figured my main battery was toast. Replaced the main battery with a new group 94 and everything has been fine. Truck drives and runs perfectly.
However, every now and then I'll look at the EVIC and battery voltage will be between 14.3 and 14.7 but then at times its up to 15 or at max 15.2V and seems to dance all over the place between those numbers. No drivability issues whatsoever, but that just seems like the Voltage is too high.
I plan on tomorrow to put a Volt meter across the new battery while running and see what the voltage is compared to what is shown on the EVIC to see the differences.
My only thoughts is maybe my alternator is shot and or the IBS sensor? Its a max tow with the larger alternator if that makes any difference.
Any thoughts?
Thanks
