Bed Mounted 120v Receptacle

Well i finally managed to score one of the bed receptacles for 120v via an inverter. Truck didnt come w that option for some reason, i think i didnt get the 8.4 radio or something. ANYWAY....the thing says 400w, which is what the factory inverter is. So if im doing the math right thats only 3.3a, not much. Im wanting to put in a aftermarket inverter in 1000-1200w range. So now i have a receptcle thats no good? The wiring is small on the pig tail. If i cut most of that off and upgrade, leaving a very small section of the lighter wire. Think that will make it usable?

You do know that's a 230 volt plug right?

Measure the wire and find out what guage it is.

Yeah its just startin to dawn on me...wth?? Theres another post i just saw where a guy has this in the bed from the factory....what the heck is going on

Just bought my truck yesterday and it came from the factory with the same one installed in the bed!

A regular 120v plug fits it so hell if i know
