Float . . . Drift . . . just a play on words really . . . I'm in TOTAL agreement on that "Sound of Silence" one hears when standing in or near a "quiet" stretch of River . . . better yet Camped overnight next to it . . . next best thing to being on cloud 9 up in heaven (so I've dreamed).I do sometimes drift for fish but it's a double meaning. I have lived all over the state and been to more towns and villages than most. The wife is a state policewoman and that's how she started off, being sent to small towns all over. So were sort of middle-class drifters. But my favorite thing to do when I do have a day or 2 is to get a raft in the water and float. We've got lots of toys these days but it's hard to beat a night on a sandbar no lights no traffic and the only sound being the river going by. I like fishing/shrimping in one of our powered boats but float trips is what I like best.
