Yes, I like the Mopar handles better also. However, the front Mopar handles will not work with a Sunrider top.
Cheers
Why is this? We have the handles and have considered the Sunrider top, but we can't give up the handles as my wife needs them for entrance and exit.

A winch would be awesome but first I need a front bumper that will handle it. As soon as I have a steel front bumper a winch will be close behind.

I would recommend going with a new metal bumper. You will enjoy having the plastic one off your Jeep.

So this year my wife and I welcomed our 2nd son. I've gotten everything everyone wanted for Christmas already. But my wife who makes excellent money has lost a good chunk of it this year to the baby so she's not really able to get me something right now. I'd just be buying my own present which I think would be silly. It's not a huge deal or anything it just means my Christmas bonus from my employer is all I'll really have to spend maybe a couple hundred more. It's $500. If you had somewhere between 500-700 in spare cash for your Jeep what would you buy? Top of my list is a steel front bumper but shipping to AK has ruled most of those out. I've thought about a River Raider snorkel because we have a lot of water crossings here. Not really interested in cosmetic only upgrades right now, any other parts that would add some functionality you can think of in that range?
So, I'm confused AKDrifter. By-the-way, the "name," any reference to your occupation? Fishing Guide? OK, back to why I'm confused - you start out getting on a "personal" level with the child, the finances, and how you've spent "YOUR" money on everyone's gifts . . . is that correct ? If so, and you say your wife, who you seem to be very much thankful for (the 2nd baby boy) has spent a "good chunk of HER income" on the new baby (Your baby BOY) . . . is that correct ?
SO now you want to buy YOURSELF a $500-$700 jeep toy, with some "Spare Cash" . . . is that correct ?
Don't just "read" the content . . . ask yourself, knowing that it is the HOLIDAY's (granted they've become commercialized), but the Holiday Season is much more than THAT . JUST SAYING . . . NOT JUDGING (cause I don't have all the "facts," nor should I, but IF it were ME and I was still "loving on my wife who just gave ME a Baby Boy to pass on my family name . . . well you get where this is going ? I'd be taking ALL of that $700 and taking my wife ( both the boys stay with the grand parents) on a Long Weekend LoveFest Pampering Vacation . JMHO as to what I would do . Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah or . . . ? :piggybank: :sun: ;)

I'd love to have one but as I explained in the original post I cannot get one shipped to me for the $ I'd have to spend. Even a Quadratec QRC comes to about $800 shipped. So that's going to wait a little while until the wife is back to full-time work.

No she's not making any $ right now. Hasn't for the last few months. She just started going back to work on weekends for a little while before going back full-time so we don't have any days off together right now. Next year we will do a Disney trip but no vacations until then. So I've got our bills covered and Christmas paid for. I get a bonus at the end of the year from my employer that's all I'll spend on myself plus maybe a couple hundred more but I won't spend more than that. I know guys on here have found some super cool things for these Jeeps I just want to hear what gadgets you would pick if you had the $ to spend.

Since you have a Rubicon and a stick, I'm guessing you actually take yours off-road, so the answer is easy, a winch and mount. Should be in the $650 range. I went with the superwinch TS9000s (9000lbs, synthetic rope) and Omix mount.

Edit: they make winch mounts for the stock bumper. I have the stock steel bumpers and am happy with them, but I think they're generally a waste of money. https://www.rockhard4x4.com/product_p/rh-90205.htm

That was very thoughtful of you to not chastise or be upset with my comment . . . wasn't sure (after I posted) how you would react ? You came through like a true Gentleman . . . Happy Merry whatever you celebrate this Holiday Season . . . and that goes for EVERYONE else too .
I'm still curious about the AKDrifter thing ? Only cause Im a "FlyFInatic"(Lou) with a 14 ft Drifter (StealthCraft).

Bestop Sunrider. I consider it the best upgrade I have made. With available discounts and rebate it is within your price point.

I've look around and can't find any discounts or rebates. Care to share ? Thank you

I do sometimes drift for fish but it's a double meaning. I have lived all over the state and been to more towns and villages than most. The wife is a state policewoman and that's how she started off, being sent to small towns all over. So were sort of middle-class drifters. But my favorite thing to do when I do have a day or 2 is to get a raft in the water and float. We've got lots of toys these days but it's hard to beat a night on a sandbar no lights no traffic and the only sound being the river going by. I like fishing/shrimping in one of our powered boats but float trips is what I like best.

1. I called and asked, received a substantial military discount.
2. Explore their web site. There is a $50 rebate available.

All the other aftermarket grap handles wrap around the roll bar and you can move them fore and aft depending on where you want them. I like the Mopar fixed handles better because they feel more substantial and they do not bunch up when you pull on them.

I liked these for the same reason, I didn’t want them to flex or bunch up but didn’t want them to be restricted to a single location either. And there is enough resistance in the mounting to allow them to be flipped up out of the way so they are not always hanging down.
