Try this link for reception - has an option to change the antenna height to maybe omprove options.

Yeah, been over some of the antenna map sites. Channelmaster, rabbit ears and others and this one made me laugh -

It's already above the peak of the roof by at least 5 feet.

Still doesn't say anything about best antenna, amp/splitters, etc. which is the original question I guess no one knows about.

Old pic from about 20 years ago but gives an idea of how high it is already. This is a prior antenna, current one is at least a foot, maybe even more, higher as I used a longer pole.

If you are still using the same type of antenna, you only need half of it now. Mine used to look like that until the switch to digital, then I cut off the half no longer needed. Don't know if that will help your reception or not.

Thirty foot tower you mentioned might help, as to the cable in house age wise, it’s copper, does age well if it is RG59 that is a thinner gauge copper and will give weaker signal then heavier RG6 cable, both were in use in the 80’s. Every connection can be a loss of performance replacing connectors and to tightening them can help when you get to that point Bill. When I was a kid we had a big antenna in our attic with a channel master motorized control on top of the TV to adjust the signal, it was huge improvement turning the antenna towards source direction. I’m 66, I’m talking about when I was 10! ……Jack

Have you tried hooking the antenna directly up to one TV by passing all the splitters and amp?
I know you don't want to get on the roof but if you have a point where the coax comes into the house you can test it at that point and this would at least tell you if the cabling/amp is the issue. Of course the problem could be from the antenna to the point you are testing at also.
It would be ideal if you could hook up directly to the antenna with a new transformer installed.
