Best Tonneau Cover

Good info thanks. So it looks like it is either all the rolled out or all the way rolled up and strapped in. Also do the straps just hang at the front until needed to clip in to hold in place while rolled up? How well does it keep water out and do you have to install rain drains? Does the cover have to be removed to add T slot nuts for accessories to the rail? I had a tri fold on my last truck that sat on the bedside and was thinking about something more low profile for my new truck but want to also have bed rails for accessories.

Yes the straps just hang down and then become accessible when the top is rolled up. Not sure if this is obvious but this top is made up of aluminum strips-so its like a hard top when its rolled out. I thin you can even stand on it-but not interested in trying that! It's been a while since I installed but I don't believe there were water drains like the tri-fold has. I never installed them on the tri-fold. Never had water intrusion issues with either top. But here in az I rarely see rain-so not a good test.

First time Jeep owner. Bought my new Gladiator last week and I would love some input on tonneau covers. My last cover was low profile that sat on top of the bed sides. It was a tri fold hard cover but the last section didn't fold up which was never really an issue for my needs. Only had to take it off a couple of times which was very simple to do. I was thinking about getting one that is a little more flush for my new truck. Also I would like to get a bed rail system to mount a few things. My concern is getting a cover that works with the rail system. Would like to get a tri fold hard cover. I would love to get some input and suggestions from those that have bought tonneau covers for their Gladiator. Thanks in advance.

Those with the Bak covers - are you happy with the quality of them? I see quite a few reviews where they say they’re made with cheap plastic that tends to crack.

Im pretty partial to the diamondbacks

I have the Diamondback as well. Because it sits on top of the bed and has a slant towards the middle, it makes the rear not look so boxy. Plus you can load up to like 1600 lbs on it (not that you should) for hauling and the tie down cleats are essential.

Installed the BAK 4Xs tonneau cover as well and very happy. Can't go wrong with it. Simple install and works great.

There is no "best", but make sure you pick one that fits your needs.

I went with a hybrid hard roll up because I wasn't fond of having to block my whole rearview with a trifold any time I needed it open. I wanted more security than a soft roll up offers because I regularly keep stuff in the back, but nothing that isn't replaceable so if it does get stolen it's not the end of the world. That said, I don't need someone taking a knife to a soft cover and stealing a $300 dollar cooler or fishing rod either. Weigh the pros and cons of what you need it for and make your selection based on that vs what others are telling you is "best". If you're looking to load it up with weight you will want a hard folding one.

I have a Rugged Ridge that came on my truck. Just got it Saturday, so the jury is out, but it seems to fit well. I haven't rolled it up more than a few feet but it all seems intuitive. I didn't need any instructions to figure it out....at least so far. I hope it lasts awhile. It looks to be in good shape, but it is only 2 years old.

Love my Roll-n-lock - super easy to open and close, looks great, has rail option and mounted my rack straight to it. Killer combo imho.

agree with this combo Roll-n-lock and overland ruff rack. Ideal solution for security of gear in truck bed and a bed rack for attaching overland gear.

I have the Mopar trifold factory installed and am quite happy with it.

But if I would have the choice and if it would be available I would go for the Diamondback.

I am still trying to decide what I want, no cover with locked Boxes which is what I am running now, or Drawers, or a cover like what you are talking about.

Trail Rails- save a lot of money $ Look into Unistrut that electricians use. Find the type with solid back, and you make your own holes to match the Galddy bed, otherwise they come with holes in the back. Sand 'em a bit, and paint them for the best look. There are several videos on U-Tube for Build Your Own Trail Rails. Trail Rails will cost you $300-$400 new, the Unistrut might cost $30-60 dollars. There are lots of Unistrut hardware for mounting tie down hooks, loops, or what you think is best for the load you are carrying. I installed mine in a day, and I have no rust.

I've had a few BAK Mk tri folds on other trucks and have one on my Mojave right now. Zero issues, well made and a good choice.
