A quote from Softopper customer service on Wrangler Forum: "Yes, we were acquired by Bestop, Inc. The sale went through on the 1st of June, and it's been great! They are not interested in changing anything about our product, processes, or customer service model. They are very hands off, and the upper management for them has changed in the last few years. We are really enjoying working with them."

So if you did actually know that Softopper was owned by Bestop, why did you acknowledge that you posted a "competitor's product"? You would have been far better off to have educated forum members, if you truly had worthwhile info (which I doubt), rather than being a total jerk and lashing out with offensive and juvenile personal attacks.

I'm looking forward to seeing the new soft "shell" for the Gladiator, regardless of the name it is marketed under. It might have been in this thread or another in this forum, but I seem to remember Cassie hinting that something might be unveiled at SEMA...exactly 2 weeks away now.

It's true. Bestop acquired Softopper a few months back and it's been a great partnership. Bestop started in Boulder, CO back in 1954 and we've known the team at Softopper for many years. They are a great group of people like what was mentioned by their customer service team above we want to enable them to scale what they are already great at doing - product design, production, and customer service.

Check out this customer install!

New Bestop Sunrunner installed. Took about an hour. Trick was getting all the screw holes lined up. Tolerances are very tight. Once that is managed it easily goes on. Very impressed with the fit and finish. Quality is 1st class.
