We all have those stories about substandard customer service when requesting a warranty claim.

In this case, Bestop is not one of those companies, I have bought numerous items from them over the years.

This was the first time I had to submit a warranty claim. It was on a JK unlimited soft top. The top didn’t fit properly.

The top sagged in the middle, collected water (a lot). The passengers side rear section would not securely fasten to the body clip.

I contacted Bestop, after some pictures, videos and questions were reviewed, they sent me a new top.

I am more than impressed with Bestop, and this just secured my faith and loyalty to them.

In a time where customer service is waning, it’s refreshing to find a company that stands behind their products.

Thank you Bestop, (Leticia) not only for standing behind your product, but for over 20 years of solid products I have purchased from your company.

Bestop is the best. Now if they could only make a JL style bracket to put the JT top DOWN instead of the silly Man Bun sticking up in the air.

I wonder if that is to clear possible bed caps on the truck

After the headaches and multiple phone calls i find this impossible to believe.

All my calls were related to a product that was very clearly designed to the wrong specs AND fabricated poorly and they still continued to sell even after a point where it was impossible for them not to know about it, and then be told by a few different CS agents "they've never had a single complaint about this item" implying i was the lone idiot who couldn't figure out how to get metal to pass through metal

and then the resulting fights... where they threatened me with a 30% restocking fee for an item a different agent later admitted to me was NOT going to be restocked because they had discontinued the item for QC reasons and after i returned it they would be putting my returned item directly into the dumpster. (which is where it belonged long before they even tried to shift that shit off to customers with a "clearance" sale)

Keep in mind this was not a warranty claim, this was all well within the return period. My first call to them was one day after package arrival and that's when the lies started.

It was just lie after lie with these people, and since my ordeal i've read at least a dozen different accounts about how little post-purchase support they offer (a common refrain i'm hearing is that if you email them instead of call them they just ignore you), both for their slider steps like mine, as well as other products like their soft toppers which they seem to be sending to people used.

I was less than impressed with Bestop as well. I ordered a sunrider for my gladiator and one of the nuts was welded off center on the plate that attaches the sunrider frame to the jeep "rollbar". I could have returned the thing--at an expense of shipping and product to Bestop because it was clearly a manufacturing defect, instead I simply drilled out the part of the plate that was preventing the threads from the bolt from threading. Two screws were a little chewed up from all of this, so I called bestop to see if I could have two sent. They informed me that my warranty was voided(because of the drilling) and required pics and receipts before sending 2 simple flanged screws. I'm thankful that they sent them free of charge, but i thought the process was a little crazy. Hopefully if I have an issue with this thing unrelated to enlarging a hole that they screwed up during manufacturing, I won't be hung out to dry........

I’ve heard various rumors but nothing concrete that makes sense, like discontinuing, the diesel to focus on electric. The eco-diesel is made in Italy and can be plugged in the same as ETotque, Pentastar, 392, or 2.0.

I never believe corporate speak anymore

Bed caps might interfere but so could a lot of things. I would rather deal with that rather than having to stop and close the top every time I go into a parking garage which is currently the case.
My wife’s Rubicon with a Sunrider fits.
My son’s JL soft top fits.
But my JT soft top sticks up to the point of….craziness.

Just saying

It really looks like a mount could be manufactured to have two positions like the JL has.

I used Bestop customer service once and it was awesome.

I needed a single soft top window. Could only buy the set of 3 windows. Called them asking if I could buy just the one window. They said no, but we will send you one for free.

Wow, that seems like a lot. I just sent a few pictures and a video, then received a brand new top. My experience was different, and I am thankful for it.
